  • Beck Named Pitt State's Head Football Coach

    PITTSBURG ? In a room filled with alumni, athletes, faculty, students and supporters Pittsburg State University President Steve Scott introduced Tim Beck as the school?s 14th head football coach Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 9). Beck, 45, takes over the helm of his alma mater after serving for 22 years as an assistant coach on the Pitt State football staff. This was the play of the day. Only a minute remained in a wild NCAA Division II national championship game, and the Bearcats - who led Grand Valley State by just seven - needed to stop the Lakers on fourth and 15 to ensure a heartbreaking second-half collapse wouldn't come to fruition.  Full Story
