Hard to argue that point, when PSAC has far more undefeated teams this year! Lol
I think frostburg has potential long term success due to their proximity to major metro areas for recruiting.

      • FYI
        wlu frostburg game stats

        - much better ball movement. which results in late rotations and close outs by defense. When this occurs talented players don't have to take off balance or contested shots.

        - seven players in double figures and 9 players logged 18 or more minutes with a max of 22 minutes.

        - over 40% threes shooting as a team due to having feet set and good mechanics. When threes are weighted it is the equivalent of making 68% two point shots

        - 1.4 points per possession almost guarantees victory.

        - great unselfishness - 32% of possessions had assists. Compared to fsu 4%. Teamwork beats one on one.

        - playing fast but nearly error free as only 18% of possessions were turnovers. Fsu was 26%.

        - big improvenent: wlu continued to share ball in second half despite a 30+ point lead at half. They wanted to play toward their standard rather than revert to one one one against a tired opponent.

Keep playing the cream puffs. The PSAC will be back when the Gov opens it up.

In this weird year, we don't even play every MEC team twice as we went to a two division setup with 17 games. No out of conference games, which killed possibility of playing scheduled Daemon game. Looks like the MEC strategy is to have a buffer of 6 extra games so that we play the minimum of 11 games. Possible that MEC teams will be assigned to a temporary NCAA region and have to travel some distance. Hard to justify playing nearby with only one conference in region. Nothing definite yet.

The Gov cancled all college games in PA? Humm...someone should tell Penn St and Pit and Temple and Lincoln and perhaps Mercyhurst as well!!

Might want to tell the PA schools in the PAC as well.

You obviously don't know who runs the PSAC do you? PSAC is different than Penn St, Pitt, etc. Do some research because your boat is still sinking!!! Keep playing the cream puffs!!!

Ahhhh...So youre saying that the PA Gov controls the PSAC! Funny, I thought PA gave considerable funding to Penn St, Pitt and Temple. Yet only the PSAC caved to the Governors wishes? Guess with soooo many PSAC schools hurting for $, they really had no choice but to give into the whims of the Governor and cancel sports.

Maybe IUP can print T-Shirts to help it's bottom line and stay in business. Slogan can be - IUP, Undefeated in Football AND Basketball 2020-21. Of course, I guess they would have to get permission from the Governor first!

                          • Tough two game schedule coming up this week for the Toppers. Starts tomorrow against defensive minded Concord followed Saturday by run and gun Glenville. Concord is #2 in the MEC defensive standings allowing 71 points per game...Other side of the coin, they are #12 in the MEC on offense averaging a paltry 67 PPG. Three days later, they face the polar opposite in Glenville who is #2 in the MEC in scoring averaging 96 PPG but are #9 on defense allowing teams to score 89 PPG.

Worth noting, Glenville stands 4-0 on the season and this week cracked the D2SIDA top 25 rankings at #24. Glenville has always had the tools to score with the best of them but at times have somewhat somewhat reckless and that has cost them. Could they finally have "figured out" how to run and play under control this season??

Frostburg's issue seems to be coaching. Their coach has had some success as a women's coach but he seems to be struggling a bit in the men's game. Being a Maryland public school, they have a tuition advantage in some VERY deep basketball areas in the Maryland suburbs of DC and Baltimore. Right coach could turn them into a power pretty quickly!!

watched gsu beat charleston. They are playing more like WLU, probably due to Brandon Smith's influence. They share the ball very well. Not very tall but very good shooters. It could be 130-120 game.
Concord always gives wlu trouble in athens.
