So, let me get this straight. The IUP super fans are unhappy because the crowds are down, Joe can't manage personnel, and Carey can't manage the game but both the men's and women's teams are in the regional finals. That's pretty great, right?
I watched both semifinal games. Outstanding efforts by IUP. I never thought the men would pull that off with 3 guys fouling out.

I didn’t want to be the one to say it. I thought it was bad. Those were two really physical teams and it seemed like they blew the whistle every single time that somebody went up. They called a ton of ticky tack stuff. But in the closing minutes they failed to identify an IUP defender getting bulldozed under the rim. Even when they called the offensive foul on VUU late in OT, you could tell that official was really pumped to make that call.Originally posted by IUPHawks24 View PostJust a really poorly officiated game. Hard to believe these are the best officials in the region.

I don't like the mixed crews they use in the regional (one official from each conference). It always feels like it's inconsistent because it's a crew that's never worked together before. I'd rather if a CIAA team is playing a PSAC team, then use your best MEC crew. If an MEC team is playing a CIAA team, use your best PSAC crew. At least they'd know each other and how they like to call a game. Would increase consistency.Originally posted by IUPHawks24 View PostJust a really poorly officiated game. I agree with you. Have a full crew do a game.Originally posted by Scrub View Post

I wasn’t going to bring it up if IUP lost because sour grapes and all, but what a disastrous job by that crew. They made a terrible mess of that game. Joe always works the officials, but he was beyond that yesterday and beside himself on several occasions. It was bad call after bad call, and then the horrendous no call on the offensive foul by their giant center late. They just looked completely ill equipped to officiate a game of that magnitude yet there they were. What a shame.Originally posted by IUP24 View Post
