Mentioning KR sure brings back some memories.

The West had a golden run of coaching characters for a stretch. Think back to around 2015-ish.

Joe, KR, JR, Gary ... there were nights watching them bicker to each other that were way more exciting than the games.

Obviously they were all a lot younger then.

I remember Joe and Gary seemingly hated each other for years but then ended up becoming close friends.

KR got invited back by Joe while at Point Park. They seemed to bury the hatchet.

Now, modern times, I'm not sure Joe and Danny will ever be friendly.

Well, it appears it took Saint Francis dropping from D1 to D3 to finally get them to agree to play IUP.


The game is set for Dec. 30 at the KCAC.

They have a few holdovers still on the roster and added a couple PSAC alumni.

IUP (Men's) will play at Ashland on Nov. 20 (6 p.m.)

Lidlifter against Concord on Nov. 13 in the IRMC Classic. IUP vs. Point Park the next night. Clarion is the fourth team in the classic.

I enjoy a game a year across the street -- and think they should play one there every season.

Three ... not so much. But, one, yes.

One of the best atmospheres at an IUP game in the recent era was actually at the MFH. IUP beat Shippensburg there about 7-8 years ago on a Saturday night. It was packed and had an electric atmosphere. There is something about when those old, claustrophobic gyms are crowded. The noise is just different. The KCAC spreads out the fans so much it never really gets loud.

Honestly, all the dead winter break games should be played at Memorial (and Cal at Hamer) only because the crowds are dismal anyway. No need to force "450" people into a 4,500 seat arena.

They should be a pretty solid D3 team for a few years considering SFU said they'd completely honor the scholarships of all current athletes through their graduation or transfer. Then once they can participate in D3 events, they'll be a D3 team haha

They double-booked a game at IUP several years and then backed out. IUP had to scramble to find an opponent and settled with one of the Pitt or PSU Who Cares branches.

I wouldn't have given them the time of day.

Sorry that Ship is getting the field house treatment again. I'd much rather have a more sparse KCAC crowd. :-)
