    3. Pegram is solid. I wish he'd have came to IUP. Simpson ... see No. 1
    4. The only objection is Malik has a big TO number. No doubt ... He can sure take over a game -- on both ends.

I'll say this, if you were holding a draft to build a real team (not a stat team) ... the first pick is either Cobo or Malik. And, that selection isn't an easy one.
If I'm building a "real" team... Malik and Cobo are my first two. Simpson doesn't even cross my mind. I'm not even certain I take Till and the baggage.

Sounds like we may be seeing some postponed games tomorrow.

Valid question ... probably depends how much 'human element' you put in to the voting. Voting strictly on results it would have to be Bravado Joe.

But, when you consider all SRU went through and to have the season they have had ... that's worth something -- and it wasn't easy to accomplish.

The next batch of games -- whether they get played tonight or perhaps tomorrow, ...

Clarion at IUP -- The Crimson Hawks have won 16 straight in the series. Tonight will make it 17. IUP in the recent years has shown it doesn't always get too excited for such games -- especially (oddly) at home. Up, down, or sideways, it shouldn't matter. The biggest thing is for Joe not to play for stat awards and keep guys in for 38 minutes while up huge. Limit (control) risks. IUP wins big. Crimson Hawks -24.5

Mansfield at Salem -- Salem's tour of the PSAC basement continues. Clarion got spanked down there last week. Now, it's Mansfield's turn. Salem -29

West Chester at Lock Haven -- West Chester's last loss was at IUP way back on Dec. 18. Their next one is coming. But, it won't be tonight. The Rams, winners of 14 straight, roll in to Lock Haven and put a beating on the Bald Eagles in front of what should be a roaring 35-40 people. West Chester -27

UPJ at Seton Hill -- For entertainment value, this is the best game of the night. These two are basically twins in style of play. Both have solid starting units. Neither has much of a bench. UPJ has been sporadic lately. They went gang-busters against IUP but also lost to Clarion. Seton Hill has been sporadic all year. The first meeting, an 85-70 UPJ win, was basically UPJ vs. Nathan Davis and Trevor Blondin. For Seton Hill to win tonight, that can't happen. More players need to step up. UPJ has lost 3 of its past 4 outings. Tonight, the Mountain Cats fall in to that McKenna Center snake pit. Seton Hill wins. Griffins -4

California at Mercyhurst -- This trip up to sunny Erie won't help Cal's PSAC Tournament chances. Lakers win. Big. Danny Sancomb's first visit to the MAC will be a nightmare. Mercyhurst -19

Edinboro at Slippery Rock -- John Warren II and Micah Till went for 50 in the first meeting. With Till on the shelf and Edinboro playing better, this could be somewhat entertaining. Trey Staunch had a double-double even with Till in the lineup. He could have a big one tonight. Sans Till, SRU has beat Seton Hill and Mercyhurst, but also barely escaped Clarion with a 1-point win. This one should actually be close. But, Edinboro's lack of defense (any defense) will be the difference. SRU wins a tight(ish) one. Rock -9

Kutztown at Millersville -- The Marauders won the first one, 94-92. The same type of game should play out here. This will be a run-n-gun, no defense type of affair. Both teams are built the same. Millersville plays well at home. That is the difference tonight in a match-up of two of the leagues prolific scorers. Marauders -2

Bloomsburg at East Stroudsburg -- ESU's mid-February vacation ends after tonight. But, they'll have some fun in the process. Warriors put on a show for the home crowd. ESU -29

Boro was up by 8 for a good bit of the second half. Rock started coming back then a technical called on the Edinboro bench boosted the Rock comeback. Edinboro never recovered.

Pretty good lineup on hand for tomorrow. The headliner is East Stroudsburg travelling to West Chester. The nightcap is the city game in Erie.

Clarion at Edinboro - The Fighting Scots' fate was all but sealed when it lost by 2 points at Slippery Rock this week. Edinboro is playing well but now sits 2 full games out of the final conference tournament spot with three games to go. The real bad news is the last two are against IUP and Mercyhurst. But, this is a must-win with no exceptions. Round 1 was pretty tight with the Scots getting out of Clarion with a 5-point win. This round shouldn't be nearly as close. Edinboro wins fairly comfortable. Scots -12

Millersville at Lock Haven -- The Marauders enter the game coming off last nights thrilling, 2 OT victory over Kutztown. Been saying all year ... Millersville is going to be a scary team to play in the conference tournament. They should have little trouble tomorrow. The 'Ville wins this one. Big. Marauders -17

IUP at California -- The last several visits to the Angelo Dome have been de-facto home games for IUP. The Crimson Hawks travel well to the Mon Valley, and, well, nobody attends Cal men's games. IUP looked like a team last night that hadn't played in 8 days. Good but not great. They should be much more sharp tomorrow. Not good news for California. The first meeting, an 81-56 IUP win, was close for a half. Tomorrow should be about the same. Hawks cruise in second half and win comfortably. IUP -18

Slippery Rock at UPJ -- It was the same old song for UPJ last night. Another road loss. Good news is they host Slippery Rock tomorrow. This one has 'upset' written all over it. SRU has been winning lately but barely -- four straight wins by a combined 16 points. The Mountain Cats will burn up the nets tomorrow. UPJ gets a big win in a big trap game for SRU. UPJ -4

Shippensburg at Mansfield -- Blah. Ship -29

Mercyhurst at Gannon -- Round 2 of the First to 50. Mercyhurst won the first go-around, 51-35. That's like the second media timeout score in the MEC. Gannon proved two things in the first meeting: 1) they can shut the Lakers down, and 2) their offense is offensive. If the Hammermill isn't lively for this one on a Saturday night ... it may never be. The Knights really need Darryl Porter back and healthy to have any remote shot of winning this game. Truth be told, with or without him, it may not matter. The Lakers are tough, and, frankly, just better. Mercyhurst may explode in this one and crack 55-58 points. Gannon may hit the low 40s. Lakers -12

East Stroudsburg at West Chester -- Two regionally ranked teams (No.'s 10 and 5) ... this one is massive -- for not only the participants but several others on the bubble. An ESU loss may all but force the Warriors to win the PSAC Tournament as their only method of making the NCAAs. A West Chester loss will certainly drop its seed, and, who knows what else. Remember, WCU still has to play Shippensburg, too. West Chester won by a point in East Stroudsburg -- a game you could easily say ESU blew as much as WCU won. Some interesting angles at play ... West Chester hasn't lost since Dec. 18 but also hasn't been in a close game in more than a month. ESU has played three straight cupcakes. So, both are seeing the first opponent who can legitimately punch back in quite a while. It's real hard to win in West Chester -- and real hard for the visitors to get many calls. ESU is a very legit team that somehow dropped three unexplainable non-conference games. This is a coin toss game. With its season on the line, ESU finds a way. Warriors win another thriller. ESU -1

One of the oddities of the GU / Mercyhurst rivalry is that the game at the Hammermill is a much more normal-scoring game (at least by their standards). There have been plenty of neither-team-reaches-50 games at the MAC, but never at the Hammermill.

GU and Hurst have played a true home-and-home since 1990. In the past 28 years, the game at the MAC has been the lower-scoring of the two 25 times, the Hammermill only two and one year was a tie (same amount of points scored in each game).

We've gotten some good crowds at the Hammermill the last two Saturdays, and they were afternoons. I expect a pretty decent crowd this Saturday night. Both the men's and women's games have the potential to be pretty good. Agree that Porter has to play for the Knights to have any shot.
