This weekend's games at IUP shouldn't cause much alarm as the Crimson Hawks are heavily favored in both. But, next weekend ... Ship on Saturday and Kutztown on Sunday. That's a heck of a weekend.

West men went 1-2 in non-conf last night with lone win being Rock over District of Columbia.

Gannon women lost by 51 vs Ashland. Yikes. That programs free fall is actually remarkable.

In all fairness to GANNON WBB, that's the 3rd ranked undefeated ASHLAND WBB they were playing. An average to good team can run up against a superior team on a hot night and get thumped. WLU WBB who eliminated CALU in last years playoffs got crushed 92-50 by the VULCANS in the 2nd game this year, but will likely be in consideration for a spot at the end of the year. GU WBB's other losses this year look like a team being rebuilt. Let it play out.

That story goes a little deeper. They've had a mass exodus of players leaving the program.

Sorry to hear that, I hadn't been following their roster closely. Good to see that the C'HAWKS have got things turned around after some early stumbles. Along with BORO, MC and SHU, it could still make to an interesting WBB season. Believe it or not, I'm even mildly optimistic about the VULCANS MBB start this year. Looking for respectability first followed by competitiveness. We'll see what happens.

The league needs that IUP vs Cal MBB rivalry to come back. There was nothing like it for a 15 year run.
