Six of this weeks Top 25 have already lost this week. Big shake up coming next week. If West Chester wins Saturday they should get a big climb in next weeks poll, and UPJ should crack the Top 25.

Several teams expected to be pretty good this year on the men's side are off to less than stellar starts.

These teams better get things turned around quick (some: REAL quick) if they still want a dance ticket in March (with 8 losses being the usual magic number):

        Virginia Union (5-4)
        Virginia State (5-4)
        East Stroudsburg (4-3)
        Slippery Rock (4-3)
        Bowie State (4-5)
        Concord (3-5)
        Kutztown (3-4)
        Millersville (3-4)
        Shepherd (3-4)

The Top 25 carnage continued last night. No. 10 Ashland got crushed, 99-69, by Lake Superior State. In the nightcap, No. 4 UC San Diego lost at home, 81-73, to Chico State.

That's (8) Top 25 teams with a loss this week before the weekend.

              Outsiders View:

Fairmont State keeps winning ... they aren't that good.

Concord won a close game over a bad team. They 'could' be good. WTF is going on down there?

WVW has it in them to be a good team. Motivation seems to be an issue. Man-for-man, ... they are loaded. However, their record sucks.

                .
Chris Fite is hoping you're right. Next game, the 17th in Fairmont -- four days before IUP invades Heiges.

Falcons' largest margin of victory in 5-1 start: 85-78 over the Rock.

It's a good time to play down there. IUP went down there around the same date last year. Students are all gone. Very mild crowd.

Just saw on VerbalCommits that Concord's starting PF Simun Kovac left school and signed a contract to go back to Europe and play pro ball. So, perhaps changing up game plans due to the loss of a key player is having some sort of effect on Concord? Not sure.

We had a similar situation here back in (around) 2002. Power forward from Finland (I think) went home for XMAS break and never came back. It was like his 3rd or 4th year in the program, too. Fannar Olaffson. Good player. Total nutcase.

Kovac is a nice player. He had 13 pts and 16 boards up here against IUP this year.

Comment: Not sure how Shippensburg isn't ranked let alone not receiving any votes.
