Big night in the MEC last night. 4 of the 6 games on the slate were decided by 4 points or fewer. Charleston edged Glenville (who was getting a lot of love on the Pick 'Em this week). And the Phoenix continues to rise from the ashes in Wheeling, as the Will Ryan era in Wheeling remains unbeaten.

The Wheeling juggernaut rolls on. I think that they've already hit the over for wins this season.
They are off to a good start. Their opponents to this point, however, are not. Wheeling's four opponents thus far have a combined 5-17 record.
That said, based on MEC results so far, I think you could easily project them to finish at least mid-pack in the conference. That's pretty remarkable.
Urbana (1-5), Notre Dame (1-5), West Virginia Wesleyan (1-5) and Frostburg State (2-4) look like they are going to have very trying seasons.
I think it's very possible Wheeling wins 3 of its next 4 games, which would put them at 7-1 heading in to a roadtrip down to Institute, WV, to face a solid West Virginia State team.

I suppose every league has bottom feeders, but, man, does it seem like the MEC's bottom feeders are REALLY LOW this year. Seems like in years past, you could at least expect a bit of fight out of a UVA-Wise or Wesleyan. But those bottom teams seem particularly low this year.
I'm interested to see the Cal vs Glenville game. SRU really needs to get a win down at DC today.
Lake Erie at Edinboro should be decent, as well as Seton Hill at Salem.
If I was betting I'd take the West teams at 2-2 today.
Common opponent for CAL U and GSC is CHARLESTON who got by both by the slimmest of margins. The PIONEERS missed a 3ptr at the buzzer and lost by 2. The VULCANS missed two FT at :16 and lost by 1 on a C'TON 3 at the buzzer. Advantage GSC on their home court.
