Only good ones to report in the MEC:

VonHandorf hits a buzzer-beating three to give Fairmont a win over WVSU.

Gentry misses a buzzer-beating three to allow WVWC to upset Wheeling.

Everything was chalk (and lots of easy blowouts at that).

And yes, if anyone knows what the heck caused West Chester to enter the witness protection program, let us know. Baffling performances.

Clarion showing a little spunk. They get Mraz back and they may win some games in the second loop.

WTF happened to SRU? Inside Morrow ... blown out?

Shepherd was a tough road win for the Raiders as I figured it might be. Now get East Stroud and West Chester at home.

West Chester has turned into a toilet bowl! They are flushing their season away!

This is becoming an implosion of historic proportions. The oddest thing is nobody is even injured.

Yeah, Shepherdstown's never a friendly place for Ship. Rams led 10-2 early and the Raiders never took charge until midway through the second half with a 14-2 run. They had runs; Shepherd only had that opening blast.

Feels awfully good to have that cushion in the East with the week ahead. WCU has got to snap out of its funk at some point, don't they?

You would think. Wednesday's score makes me think that either West Chester has given up the ghost or that I should be very worried about the away game at Millersville. Those three-point firing teams such as Shepherd are always a little scary as you don't want to hit them on the night they get hot and drop in 15-16 bombs. Fortunately, Castello, Biss, and Sleva hit some for Ship, and the FT shooting has been unreal the past few games.

Sports stats are usually suspect but in this case they seem very revealing. In their 13 game streak WCU outscored their opponents 90.3-79.8 helped a lot by an average of 24-32 at the line. In the last 7 game, 6 losses, the average score is 75.8- 79.4 with 16-22 FT. In other words the defense gives up exactly the same 79+ pts but the offense is scoring 15pts less, 75.8 vs 90.3. Although the RAMS are still hitting74% of their FT, they are taking on average 10 fewer resulting in 8 fewer pts per game. As the competition has improved, WCU has not been getting the calls they were and are losing by 4 PPG. Unless something changes, including their mind set, can't see better than 4-4 in the final eight.

Taking it a step further, WCU also hasn't been able to hit the side a barn from outside.

Last five games (all losses) from trey land:

                        9-29
                        3-16
                        3-16
                        10-33
                        4-21

They have also gone foul crazy the past five games, committing 20, 36, 21, 28 and 26 personal fouls.

They've scored what should be enough points in these 5 losses to win the games ... but they are getting shredded on defense.

                        Last 5 outings they have scored 84, 78, 85, 89 and 71 .... and lost each time.

During this streak they've been toasted for 89, 92, 91, 102 and 97 points. Those are #phat numbers to be giving up.

Defensively, it's hard not to question the effort ... 102 points given up to Bloomsburg? Come on.

Keep hearing that now that Till is back, SRU is going to be a tough out. What's their record since he's been back?
