If the "big" commitment is either of these two I'd say that was a bit overstated.
LUKE HOUSE...6'5" SF Archbishop Carroll, 3pt gunner lacks speed and bulk.
LIAM WHOLAVER...6'0" PG Cambria Hts HS, 22.6ppg and 3.5apg likely successor to PEGRAM.

This may be the one...BABATUNDE AJIKE 6'6" F from CAMDEN CATHOLIC. Can play the 3 or 4 with skill . Hopefully will blend well with PEGRAM, COLLINS, MACADAMS, and PHILIP ALEXANDER if he's fully recovered. Things are beginning to shape up.

Can never say how things will go on the court, but DANNY SANCOMB has had an apparently very fruitful first whole recruiting season. Have to acknowledge ASST. STEVE BRIDGEMAN who I'm certain did most of the legwork, but given the limited progress of last year's team, this class looks set to really help push the VULCANS forward toward their past success.
PHILLIP ALEXANDER, 6'6" G/F had nice freshman year, before injury, could be immediate top bench player.
TIM SMITH JR, 6'7" F, Lakewood HS, early commit from fall '18 very active scorer fits with running game.
BABATUNDE AJIKE, 6'6" F, Camden Cath. HS, body type looks like he could work as center.
LUKE HOUSE, 6'5" SF, Arch. Carroll HS, 3pt shooter who needs to add muscle.
LIAM WHOLAVER, 6'0" PG, Cambria Hts HS, PG who can score while running the offense ala PEGRAM.
PHILLIP ALSTON, 6'7" F, Weaverville HS, had more buzz as a HS junior including interest from AIR FORCE ACAD, may be a project.

Of note, Cal beat out Mercyhurst for Alston. The Lakers also lost one of their top PG recruits to Kent State.

I don't agree on Alexander. If he's healthy he comes back as a Day 1 starter.

DS still seems to have a connection with religious schools from his time @WJU

Official arrivals for VULCANS MBB in nice format. Pictures don't reveal talent but 9 incoming with up to 9 returnees gives me hope that DS has things headed in the right direction. Time will tell.

As with WBB, the MBB initial roster had several missing players that I hope are typos of some sort.

                            Updates when available.

They have some real nice pieces.

Collin MacAdams, Philip Alexander, Brent Pegram, Zyon Collins and Jermaine Hall are all legit players.

There's not a whole lot of size on the roster but DS typically likes his post players more in the 6'5" or 6'6" range.

Cal's starting five is going to be very good this year. I'd go as far to say they could compete with almost everybody in the first five. Players 6-10, however, ... we'll see. That will tell the tale for the Vulcans.

DS has a good freshmen class on campus. Some (several) will have to play right away.

If the starting unit can stay healthy ... I can see a pretty big season coming for Cal -- certainly Top 3 in the West.
