OT: MEC Wrestling 2021

MEC released their 2021 Coaches Poll for the 8 team MEC:

8 Glenville (9)

WLU checks in at #6 nationally, with NDC at 15 and UNCP 20th.

MEC Championship tourney is at WLU starting Feb 6.

MEC Wrestling Championship Tourney was Saturday at WLU. WLU claimed the Team Championship holding off last seasons champs UNCP with NDC coming in third. WLU wrestlers took first place in 6 of the 10 weight classes and placed a wrestler in the final match 8 times. NDC claimed two individual titles with D&E and AB claiming one each.

Next up is the DII Regional at Tiffin in three weeks.

WLU Wrestling continues on it's role by claiming the DII Super Region 3 Wrestling title over second place Ashland with last seasons Regional Champ NDC claiming the #5 spot. WLU. All 10 Topper wrestlers won matches in the tourney with three claiming individual championships, two claiming runner up honors and two with third place podium finishes. In all six Topper wrestlers punched their ticket for the NCAA DII National Wrestling Championships starting March 12 in St Louis.
