Shippensburg vs. Virginia Union - Brutal opening weekend for the Red Raiders.

California vs. Glennville State - Keeping up for 40 minutes with a short bench may be tiresome. GSU wins in the final minutes.

Concord at IUP - Saturday night in the KCAC is not a good spot for guests.

East Stroudsburg at West Liberty - Hope the officials are in good shape.

Edinboro at Fairmont State - The Boro has some nice players, but Cleary teams aren't know for defense. Kicking things off in Joe Retton is a big ask.

Shippensburg at Virginia State - Perhaps the marquee game of opening weekend. Taking VSU at home in a tight one.

Pitt-Johnstown vs. Concord - Both teams are always better than their record says. The KCAC is a second home for UPJ.

Mercyhurst at Fayetteville State - Same comment as above. The Lake Show doesn't change its approach regardless of opponent.

Yup, Jake Biss, who's a graduate student this season, and senior Kiyon Hardy are Shippensburg's only players in their final year of eligibility. The Raiders have six players who are freshmen or redshirt freshmen. The 2019 redshirts will be in the third year on campus, but their first year of competition.

I think he just means that VSU will destroy Mansfield, so it's not a very fun game to pick.

[Although, admittedly, IUPbig, a lot of the picks so far have been very similar. So maybe some "down ballot" games would have made for a more interesting Pick 'Em. Either way, it's just week 1 and we're all just getting our feet wet with a full slate of basketball. It's good to be back!]
