Keep this in mind, too: The CIAA Tournament Champion is rarely the favorite. We've seen some pure chaos erupt due to a team out of nowhere in the CIAA making some big conference tournament run.

Was at both games. Sam Pirosko GU's top scorer went down early in 2nd period that hurt and she missed 2nd game.
Syd Mitchell her 1st game this yr after injury. Both starters.
Not excuses, as they shot poorly in both games less than 40%.
Just what I observed.

Leg injury. Heard she might not play the rest of the season. Shepherd, which would have been a tough out even if Jones were playing for Ship, now becomes the clear women's favorite in the East. Talked with Sammy as she sat nearby with an ice bag on her ankle, by the end of the game she was waling with just a slight limp.
Which led me to believe nothing serious. Sure to have been ck'd by now. I stayed o-nite & headed back to DC on Sunday.
No contact with the team as I'm back in Tx now.Comment

Notre Dame lost a game at Lynn last night. Rough stretch for last week's Top 10.
I'll be curious how the voters grade Shippensburg. Those three losses will linger but -- now healthy -- Ship is one of the top teams in the Region.Comment
