3. IUP (9-1)
4. Charleston (8-2)
5. Shippensburg (7-3)
6. Fairmont State (9-2)
7. Slippery Rock (9-2)
8. Virginia Union (8-3)
9. Gannon (7-2)
10. UPJ (8-3)
Votes: Notre Dame
5 of 10 in the PSAC West ... should be a fun winter. And, California can't be far behind. But, that simply means they will go Hannibal Lector on one another.

Ranking this on the actual eye test and up-to-the-minute status of each team, I'd probably go:
1. West Liberty - Lone loss on the road to ND. Daemen and WVW had them on the ropes late but Hilltoppers pulled those games out.
2. Shippensburg - Those three losses will stay with them but, now healthy, they won't lose many more the rest of the way ... will be very tough out.
3. Mercyhurst - Only putting ahead of IUP because they are healthy. Lakers best win is against a Biss-less Ship. Pretty light schedule overall.
4-A. IUP - Jury is still out here based on the current roster. Will remain a tough out but Joe needs to work some magic.
4-B. Charleston - Lost close to Cal in WV and at WL.
6. Fairmont State - Got manhandled by Charleston and lost to Glenville State in OT. May struggle against team with top post players.
7. Virginia Union - Two OT losses (Millersville and Nova Southeastern and a loss to a then-wounded Ship. Has played incredibly tough schedule.
8. Gannon - Two best teams they've played ... lost both. Next game: Mercyhurst visits the Hammermill. Knights have had injury issues all year, too.
9. UPJ - A bit more sporadic than I expected. Starting forward Caiden Landis barely played two games ago and missed the Ship game. Much different team without him.
10. Slippery Rock - Could be the sleeper in the West.
Not far behind:
Notre Dame, East Stroudsburg, California, Lincoln

I don't think IUP is a Top 5 team in this poll any longer but they'll stay there for another couple weeks. They'll leave either IUP, Mercy or WL at No. 1

You could be right, but this is a here and now popularity poll that are not driven by any criteria. Recent losses are magnified over those that occured earlier even if earlier is last week. Trying to get in the head of voters is problomatic but just in the case of UC vs IUP, UC's two losses are against two teams who were "ranked" in the top 10 (Cal and WLU) while IUP's one loss occured to one team that was not ranked in the top 10 (Ship) AND that loss ocured in the game immediately preceding the rankings.
