Word is Ship will be signing a guy out of Kutztown.

They had a Bevo Francis watch list kid this year. For whatever that's worth.

Wow! Not what I expected. He might end up being like the 8 guys there.

                  • FYI 4/26/2022 D2 Transfer portal update - Data from verbalcommits.com
                    • 310 teams have at least one player in the D2 portal. There are just over 300 teams in D2.
                    • 919 players in D2 portal
                    • 60 teams have five or more in the portal - no change
                    • Only 116 (13%) players have found new schools - vast majority are other D2 schools (in some cases D3). Very few D1 schools
                    • only 25 players (2.8%) found D1 homes among 21 D1 schools
                    • Only 6 D1 schools were ranked under #150 - I suspect high level D2 school would be evenly matched (at least) with schools ranked lower than #150.
                    • The highest Poll Ranking for a D1 school was #28 (Loyola of Chicago)
                    • D1 signing interval ends 5/13/22.
                    • A more relevant stat would be total points or minutes entering the transfer portal by team and separate graduate transfers from underclassmen. But I am not aware of a free database that consolidates all players statistics.
                    • As Disraeli said, "there are lies, d**n lies, then there are statistics
Note: D1 schools are a reasonable approximation as verbalcommits may not use the official name/abbrev. of school as NCAA

really hoped he'd stay in the Atlantic Region.

Did not see that one coming. Marlon Moore of WLU dominated him in Regional Final. Took him completely out of his game. Yet he went to a top 100 D1 team
I thought Sylla would go to a higher ranked D1 team than Cartier, as he plays with a much harder edge.

Much larger market for a 6'8" 2 time All-American who shoots 60% from the field than there is for a tweener (even though he was incredibly productive) who can't shoot.

I know his accolades but he's the wrong size for D1.

When I watched him this year ... he'd have been just another good small forward in the PSAC or MEC.

He ran up big stats in that offense.

You probably hit on the reason. But Marlon was 6-5 and blocked his shots, which intimidated Cartier such that he quit shooting. He also got gassed early against the WLU pace. In general, Hillsdale plays extremely soft. Is he just going to stand in the corner and shoot the 3?
Cartier shot nearly 44% from three, which is very impressive.

                                Sylla was 100% (1-1) LOL

Sylla had competed against P5 competition in 106-95 loss to Univ. of Miami. But his below par play in Regional and Elite 8 may have hurt him.

                                From article:
Meanwhile, for the Sharks, Junior guard/forward Sekou Sylla registered 26 points and a game-best 14 rebounds. He had a double-double in the first half alone, recording 10 points and 11 rebounds before the intermission.
