Unless JS figures that some combo of several transfers added to the core of Loyd/Terrell/Harrison gives her a solid shot at the Elite Eight. Problem with that is none of the incoming six are notably high percentage shooters. I am very curious about who has left. Only five months to wait.
How many left to be adding all these?

Can't blame Jess. Go for the kill. She knows IUP will not be good this year.

As far as I can tell the returning top seven VULCANS WBB players are Terrell, Loyd, Harrison, Bennett, Allen, Hudson and Herrington based on minutes per game accounting for 170/200 on average. Hudson only played 9 games before injury sidelined her. Bennett, who was generally first off the bench, did finish her degree in May. Those two may have decided to call it quits but I have absolutely zero info to confirm that. Of the five newcomers only Fink, Thomas and Harris have college BB experience. I'll go out a limb and say the starting five will be all seniors namely Loyd and Fink at guard, Harrison and Allen at forward and Terrell in the middle. Early subs will be Harris, Bennett and Herrington. Time will tell.

Don't see any time available for an 18 mpg/3.3 ppg/2.5 rpg individual in the VULCANS WBB lineup. Totally puzzled what a 1 year transfer hopes to accomplish.

Seems like she added a lot of upperclassmen with experience.

Glenville is the monster now and you need a lot of depth to beat them due to that 1,000 mph style.

It certainly looks like she's going all in for this season.

Rajah Fink is going to be a superstar in that offense. She was just stuck in Tom's quicksand offense the past 3 years.

She's adding what appears to be a lot experienced role players. They can't all be stars. That's been Joe Lombardi's method forever. You need garbagemen, goons, defensive specialists, etc.

Add too many stars and by mid-season they start pouting about minutes and PPG, etc. Then, of course, they just transfer out after the season.

Time will tell but that's as reasonable an explanation as any knocking around in my head !!

As far as I can tell a nice young woman from Minnetonka MN coming to the Mon Valley to ride the bench. Not a clue why....

First photo of most, hopefully not all, of '22-'23 VULCANS WBB. 12 pictured here with most significant absence being Shauna Harrison, which could simply be a travel delay. I always have the utmost faith in JS's ability to put an upper tier team on the court but this looks like a huge challenge.

Apparently, 13 is the number as JS starts prep for the new season minus several familiar faces.

                            VULCANS WBB '22-'23 schedule....

                            https://calvulcans.com/sports/womens...hedule/2022-23

Almost exact copy of '21-'22 with the addition of one OOC, ABU (H) and one XO, MANS (H).
Last year's OOC play was 5-0 with only the CHAS game being close. That game will be @CHAS and could be interesting especially since Dejah Terrell missed the season ending PO loss.
XO games were 3-2 last year with an OT loss @ BLOOM and an upset @SHEP. This year will see WCU, MILL and @SHEP replaced by @SHIP, @LHU, @KUTZ and MANS.
Roster not yet up, but it will be a lot different than last year's.

As expected, a TON of changes to VULCANS WBB roster.....

                                https://calvulcans.com/sports/womens...roster/2022-23

1 true freshman, 6 transfers and the solid core of LOYD, TERRELL and HERRINGTON. Rajah Fink will certainly be starting but beyond that it's anyone's guess. Reading the resumes of those besides Fink nothing really stands out other than 6'2" Jemiyah Thomas from Chicago via Three River College. Time will tell.
