Mercyhurst vs. West Liberty (I have a bad feeling that Mercyhurst's familiarity with playing in the KCAC could be a difference here--WLU has sometimes shown an inability to shoot it well in an unfamiliar gym)

Mercyhurst vs. IUP (There's no intelligent reason to pick against this IUP team right now--although a 4th round against Hurst is as tempting a reason as there could be)

ROUND 1

(8) Winston-Salem vs. (at) (1) IUP - Hawks' defense is tremendous. Hawks' offense at times lately can be horrendous. Closer than the first one, but IUP is exceptionally tough at home. Tomiwa played just 16 minutes in IUP's 67-50 win earlier this year against WSSU.

(5) Fairmont State vs. (4) Virginia Union - Polar opposite styles here. In a PSAC gym, I'll take the ground and pound.

(7) Pitt-Johnstown vs. (2) West Liberty - Can't see this being within 25 points. UPJ is 3-5 in its last 8 games.

(6) East Stroudsburg vs. (3) Mercyhurst - Lakers are very tough, but I like ESU's match-up in this one. They are pretty tough, too.

Virginia Union vs (at) IUP - The CIAA plays some games in insane environments during the regular season so the pro-IUP crowd won't impact them too much. Will the pressure? This will be a physical, heavyweight fight. IUP's players have all been here before. That experience will make the difference.


East Stroudsburg vs. West Liberty - Two things: (1) ESU's bigs are a nightmare (2) Can ESU score enough to win? Going to call my upset in this spot. This is probably the one team WL can't tire out and Pepin and McAliley will be very tough to deal with in a PSAC gym.


FINAL

East Stroudsburg vs. (at) IUP - The KCAC did get in the Warriors' heads a bit back in January. That's the difference. IUP by single digits.
