    This is just odd.

Salem is kind of the last landing spot ... the end of the road.

Shull was the PSAC West Freshman of the Year a few years back. He isn't a rock star, but he's pretty good. He can shoot outside and fill the offensive stat sheet. He's on the shorter side (probably about 5'10" or 5'11"). He's an average defensive player.

He was removed from the UPJ roster mid-way through his sophomore season. Why that happened, nobody knows. Did he quit or was he booted? He then landed at WL. Per his Twitter page, he fought through an injury while there. There was a dispute about something (he's posted the letters he received from WL online).

He's obviously talented and certainly has the ability to be attractive to much better programs than Salem. However, not one team in the PSAC West has chased him.

There's more to this story. Obviously.

I've talked to Andrew a couple times after games and found him to be very friendly and intelligent. It's very strange he seems to be getting the 'blackball' treatment. He would be an immediate starter at many, many schools in the Atlantic. He's also a very strong student so it's clearly not an academic issue.

I'd love for IUP to sign him (but to obviously come off the bench).
Nice young man. I wish him well.
He should be able to find a landing spot that meets his requirements. Just speculation, but to potential suitors, he will likely have to explain 4 schools in 4 years as well as quitting on two schools in mid-season.

In watching him play at wlu, I thought there was a log jam of talent ahead of him at guard this year. He could have possibly started next year, but it was not guaranteed with spadafora, dragas, chester, davis and montgomery at the position.

He won't have to explain the schools. Nobody cares anymore. It's normal.

If they don't care, then there should be a plethora of suitors. He is an elite 3pt shooter.
Imho, quitting mid-season is the greater issue that he would have to address in interviews.
If he had persevered until the end of the season, his exposure in NCAA tourney would have given him much greater exposure against strong competition to potential suitors.

Persevered? Wasn't he medically shutdown for the season?

Seems to be two very different versions of this story.

This Shull thing makes zero sense. What's the full story. This kid is good. I remember watching him against West Liberty 2 years ago in the regional and they had zero answer for him. He started last season in great form then he's since disappeared from UPJ midyear and same at West Lib without even playing game. What's the story? He's definitely a much better player than that dump Salem!

He lit Joe up once, too, his freshman year. He hit some crazy (NBA range) shots against IUP in the game up in Johnstown that season. The other two games they smothered him pretty good.

Stewart was shutdown for season due to injury. Did not dress. Had he been healthy, he would have gotten major minutes. Very unfortunate. He was on the bench in street clothes the 1st semester supporting the team.

Shull was hurt in preseason. Missed first 5 games. He
played 4 games starting in game 6 on nov 26 - dec 11, playing 9 (3 pts), 15 (3 pts) , 16 (7 pts), and 8 (2 pts) minutes, respectively. Was gone after 1st semester finals. I saw no indication of injury that occurred during the 4 games that would have sidelined him. He was not on the bench in street clothes the 2nd semester.

End of the day it doesn't really matter. He'll find a home.

I agree. He is an elite 3pt shooter. Might be a great fit in a traditional game that requires less extreme exertion on offense and defense.

                      • Shull also received an offer from WV State. So he may not land at Salem after all. Might be right back in the MEC.

He visited Millersville last month. Not sure if they offered him, however.

                              He'll do well there.

It's about to get real. There's only so many spots. I suspect the D2 signings will pick up in the next few days. Many start realizing John Calapari isn't calling.

To a lowly D1 conference that is lucky to get one team to the dance because of the automatic bid. I just don't understand these guys moving to low tier schools like that. They have the opportunity to compete nationally at their D2 school or disappear at a low D1 school.
