  • This won't change Gannon hosting next weekend but Gannon men really had to work hard both games this weekend.

    • Sure was. But better for those visiting today.

Not so sure about that ... Conference titles carry weight.

        WL may be hosting.

Gannon is good, but every once in a while a press-and-gun team hits a game when the three-pointers aren't falling. They had one of those today, and Cal has enough inside game to bother them.

          • Tonight has some drama all the sudden.

            1) Does WL pass up GU?

            2) How much does Cal now jump?

            3) Who is the 8th team? Charleston, WC or Millersville

              1. No. That loss by WLU to Wheeling to close the regular season is HUGE.
              2. Don't think they do. If Cal moves up based on their PSAC win over Gannon, then WLU should move up based on their MEC win over Fairmont.
              3. Wcu will be #8.

Only scenario for Cal to move up would be if the selection committee engineers the results to avoid a Gannon v Cal matchup in the first round

Side question...does VUU jump over Fairmont.?

Funny side note: WC and Ville both had players enter the Portal today.

                  • Things definitely got interesting all of a sudden.

                    My (totally uneducated) guess:

                    1. Gannon (can't discredit the whole body of work due to one bad day).
                    2. WLU
                    3. Cal
                    4. Fayetteville
                    5. Fairmont
                    6. IUP
                    7. VUU
                    8. WCU

                    • My Prediction:
                      1) Gannon
                      2) WL
                      3) Cal
                      4) Fayetteville
                      5) Fairmont
                      6) IUP
                      7) VUU (were placed here after their tournament)
                      8) Millersville (beat West Chester 2 times)

Big time FT’s by Cal. Moment wasn’t too big.

                        • I guess we find out tonight how much weight winning your conference championship carries.

I wonder if there's any rule that says once you're in the transfer portal you're officially OFF your current team. In other words, if WCU or Ville makes the tourney (and both have a pretty decent chance of grabbing that 8 seed), are those 1-2 guys not joining them in Erie?

                            • Gannon will host.

The impact of conference tournaments on the seeding isn't as impactful as a whole season of work.

Now, when you have a couple schools on the womens side where there is a razor thin difference, yes. But Gannon's overall body of work is just more than WLU and they are not really that close.

I wonder who the players are? I'm not quite up on the portal yet. To much basketball still to watch.
