Similar to the Men's thread ... here's a look at the top teams in the Atlantic (as of Jan. 5). For this week, the list will include all teams with (4) losses or less.

    PSAC

    IUP - (12-0)
    Gannon - (14-1)
    Seton Hill (10-2)
    East Stroudsburg (8-4)

    MEC

    Glenville State (9-2)
    WVW (6-2)
    Fairmont State (8-3)
    Concord (8-4)

    CIAA

    Winston-Salem State (11-1)
    Fayetteville State (8-2)
    Virginia Union (7-2)
    Claflin (6-2)
    Virginia State (8-3)
    Bowie State (8-4)

    * Winston-Salem is 11-0 in D2 play

I will add InkBlot's current stats on the Atlantic. Pretty clear IUP controls their own destiny. Gannon, for all their hype, doesn't have the strength of schedule or RPI as good as Fairmont State.

Now, do I think Fairmont would lose to Gannon? Absolutely. But Gannon continues to be overrated this season in my opinion.

IUP has the best RPI. Credit to them for going out and scheduling tough games out of conference to start the year, and winning them. I also think Gannon is a little overrated but regardless, they’re still quite capable of coming out of this as the top seed in the region come tournament time.

Gannon over rated??? WOW! I highly disagree. They are #1 till taken down.

I was talking about nationally Gannon is overrated. But if they make the Elite Eight and get embarrassed again, so be it.

I have seen both Gannon and IUP play in person. Gannon might have the better coach, but IUP has more talent on their roster this year. Still doesn't mean IUP will prevail though so yes Gannon they are the best in the weak Atlantic region until someone proves otherwise.

Yes, my reference to overrated was nationally as well. Wouldn’t surprise me in the least if they won the PSAC. I also agree that IUP has the deeper talent, but that certainly guarantees nothing.
