    It's that time.

Who is on the hot seat?

    Who is going up?

    Who is retiring?

UPJ's Bob Rukavina has announced his retirement.

He's been the head coach there since 1989.

I've heard that's been the plan for years. He's surely put his time in up there as the top assistant (and was a star player for them a long time ago).

Mount Aloysius is opening its Men's job.

This is a small D3 school in the vicinity of Indiana and Johnstown.

If you can win there, ... you can probably win anywhere.

They'll also have a natural rival now with St. Francis.

ironically to the way basketball is now.. they probably want someone with a 4 yr university history rather than a JUCO coach. Buddy of mine his dad was a JUCO coach for the past few years and he said the recruiting is so different than NCAA divisional levels. NCAA schools, even though everyone knows theyre probably not staying 4 years or graduating from the school, still want coaches to recruit players who COULD be graduates (alas student athletes).. JUCO.. he said school doesn't care what their grades are.. you recruit athletes who can help you win now or next year and likely will get their associates degree.

Tiffin isn't a bad job. But they have struggled recently and the gym is the worst. That is really the biggest problem they got. To say they play in a dump would be an understatement. Of course the school has dumped more into the football program and its facilities, which are pretty nice, and their football team is one of the best in the GMAC. So basketball is just second fiddle there sadly.

Former Concord assistant basketball coach and current Fairmont State assistant coach Trent Howard will be named the new head coach at Concord.

Says they had 175 applicants. Now, Lewis isn't a bad school, but I find it hard to believe they would have got that many!

Didn't realize McDonald left Daemen to head to Bonas. Daemen is starting to deplete since.
