Easton and his wife just bought a house last year, so housing is not accurate. Him and his wife both did get new cars from Gary Miller though.Originally posted by Sec10-A-14 View PostRead an article about 3 weeks ago That GU coaches are paid better than Mercyhurst.
I only remember it because I was really surprised.
That said, I can't recall where I read so take it for what it worth.
Also told by an insider, Bazzoli gets a new car ( lease, of course), and Housing to sweeten the deal..

Hard to say. Both being private universities nothing is public, so it would have to be rumor and conjecture. However, Mercyhurst is a wannabe D1 that has no business being there in the first place, and they were worse off than Gannon a few years ago, so I am sure this would have definitely been true not long ago.Originally posted by Sec10-A-14 View PostRead an article about 3 weeks ago That GU coaches are paid better than Mercyhurst.
Gannon is sitting on top as the D2 men's basketball national champion. Meanwhile Mercyhurst is destined for a future of mediocrity that nobody cares about. Which school would you rather be a coach at?

It could potentially be shared in the university's tax filing, but those are delayed roughly 2 years. Gannon's 2025 tax filing as a non-profit organization is actually for the 2023 calendar year and the only time salaries are posted are for "key employees" that usually make $150k or more, and also if he's related to a trustee or VP. I'd be surprised if he gets up that far because so few do at this level, JoeLo aside. BUT if he does, we'll see him on there.Originally posted by Bballfan View Post

Football coaches are paid the highest at colleges. So you would see the football coach before him. $150 is probably at the high end, but not out of the question. I would say $100 - $125 would be for a hoops coach. Football would be closer to 150k or more.

Sometimes, but not always. JoeLo makes more than Tort. At RMU, Andy Toole makes almost double what they pay Bernard Clark. What helps Bazzoli is that most schools in the conference have fully public salaries so he can easily benchmark his pay. In conferences like the NE-10 or GMAC where most schools are private, they have to agree to share that info through the conference office.Originally posted by Bballfan View PostFootball coaches are paid the highest at colleges. Sorry to clarify, they don't have to share much beyond NCAA specific things like scholarship info. But its common for conferences to help facilitate benchmarking on things like staffing, budget, salaries, etc. Unless its a rule for conference members, they would have to opt in.Originally posted by Bballfan View PostInteresting. I didn't know private schools had to share that data with conferences.
Gannon is unique in that it is in a league with a number public schools.

Got to see some behind the scenes stuff today...
When Bazzoli was hired in 2024 as HC, he was making $68,400 base (PSAC champ incentive of $5,000 annual increase, NCAA tourney incentive of $7,500 annual increase, Region Champ incentive of $10,000 annual increase, collectively).
So this year he made at least $75,900. Id guess this upcoming year hes 90-100k base

I did know conferences had certain requirements to meet in an attempt to maintain competitiveness among teams.Originally posted by Fightingscot82 View Post

Fairmont State names Dan Mondragon has head men's basketball coach. He has spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Mercer.
He was previously HC at Davis & Elkins where he did a good job. He will have more resources and support at Fairmont State.

A very good coach. Did an excellent job while at D&E. Nice hire for Fairmont.Originally posted by WVSU1995 View PostFairmont State names Dan Mondragon has head men's basketball coach. He has spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Mercer.

He will have MANY more resources than at D&E! Not the least of them being an arguably top tier national DII program. He will have many players interested and it will come down to his ability to turn that interest into signings. If he can close the deals, he will be successful.Originally posted by WVSU1995 View PostFairmont State names Dan Mondragon has head men's basketball coach.
