I have to admit I get a kick out of reading Twitter transfer announcements.


Every D2 player has a "camp" now and also an "agency". Or, he has "people close to him" reporting things on his behalf.

A few of them ... sure. They will actually have some teams bidding on their services.

But, the dude who played 6 minutes per game this past season in D2 doesn't need a damn camp and he doesn't need an agent. Those "people close to him" are two dopes eating terrible pizza in a dining hall.

It's popcorn-level reading.

Would agree that WLU has too many other options available to the program without the inherent headaches of Montano. Boy, the legacy this guy is building..........it's really a shame when you think about it.

Maybe he just wants to challenge the Whippens' record for most stops in a collegiate basketball career. Two down. Let's see what's next!

Well, the apparent goal now is to have a big year at D2 and then keep climbing the ladder. A lot of these coaches are planning to have these guys just one season.

Because of that - and his talent - he'll certainly get a lot of D2 offers.

In fairness, we've never heard his side of the story. Sorry, stories lol.

Obviously some coaches won't even entertain it.

Frostburg second-leading scorer DJ Daniel is in the portal now as well.

Basically the entire Frostburg roster. Tough gig for the coach. But as you say, bigIndians, most coaches these days pretty much assemble a roster assuming a one-year usage.

One of the better PFs in the PSAC.

I suspect he'll land at a low D1. Major loss for the Griffins. I believe he has one year of eligibility remaining.

Frostburg second-leading scorer DJ Daniel is in the portal now as well.

Basically the entire Frostburg roster. Tough gig for the coach. But as you say, bigIndians, most coaches these days pretty much assemble a roster assuming a one-year usage.

Coach up there seems to be big on transfer guys. Worked well for him in the opener against Ship when he had Montano, both the much-traveled Whippens, and a couple of other guys. Doesn't look as good now. But I suppose he'll just go out and grab a bunch of others.

I don't see him having D1 polish. But he's a nice piece (defensively and rebounding wise) at D2.
