I think IUP was Gannon's closest game in the whole tournament.

Congratulations to Gannon. They were the best team in the country all season (and it wasn't even close).

Did they just grab the trophy as the buzzer sounded?

I think he was trying to say that PSAC was men's champ for the natty and runner-up for the women.

Blah blah blah “brotherhood” blah blah blah

That goes poof the second they get paid by a D1 school and it’s Buh bye Erie..see ya later Bro.

That coach isn’t staying either. He’s young…if his phone isn’t ringing in the next hour I’d be shocked.

They made the most of their chance..gonna get paid now! Good for them..it’s the new world now.

                  I get it now.

The men’s game was two D2 teams…the ladies was the best D2 team losing to the MAC champs.

The Pee Sack West might be the toughest basketball division in D2.

Also obvious that Cal had a pretty good club to beat that team twice. The way Gannon tore through those playoffs makes me think they were an outlier and the rest if the PSAC was more competitive than I thought. Hell, Ship gave Gannon about as good a game as some of those Elite Eight teams did. Lander was out of it by halftime. As you said, I think IUP, Cal and some of the other teams from our region could have been as competitive as what I was seeing. Lander had beaten several "system" teams. I think Gannon just proved that, no matter what system you're playing, the key is just having damn good ballplayers.

It was certainly good this year, but as we all know the rosters turn over drastically from year to year these days.

You know what other school lost big today?

The Lake Show. They bolted thinking they were something going to some puny D1 conference and their cross town rivals stay put, win a National Title and the spot light in Erie.

                          DOH!!!

Congrats to Gannon. It’s a great team, and a national championship for the Atlantic Region. They were great all year, but played their best basketball all season at tournament time.

Of course you need good players. But it’s also hard to ignore that the last four national championship games have all involved at least one team that plays Jim Crutchfield’s brand of basketball and only a Minnesota State buzzer beater has stopped those teams from winning four straight national championships.

Saying that makes me wonder just how the West Liberty fans feel today. Seeing another team win a natty with the style made famous at your school with a HC from outside “the family” who was handed the keys, I have to say I’d feel a little raw personally. Heck, as an IUP fan who has watched them knock on the door for more than 30 years, I know I’m in the minority but I don’t love seeing another PSAC team win it. I mean, hats off to Gannon, they absolutely deserved it, but I’d be fibbing if I said I felt all warm and fuzzy. I’m sure I’d feel different if IUP had finished the deal at least one of those times.

GU fans showed up for the big show. Gannon had about 3.5 full sections Lander had 1.5. The scoreboard was Amazing.
GU Championship T's went for $40. No, I didn't get one. The atmosphere was electric the whole game. Only the long
ride home was a bum on a full bus but the chat was great.
Congrats to all the PSAC Their tough games prepared Gannon to roll over Lander.
