I always wondered why Emporia plays one conference home game on Sunday? Usually in late Jan or early Feb.

I'm not sure, but I think someone said UCM is in the middle of finals this week. So I guess Sunday gave them time to get rested.

Actually it applies. A team without a single player in a 50 man all-region team made the playoffs and finished the season 9-2. I think that speaks to the culture.

Lindenwood finally gets into conference play. Men beat the Gorillas 90-85. Pitt players had a bit of a meltdown at the end of the game getting hit with 3 technicals.

                      Culture wins despite losing.

ESU has to play a Sunday game because of the Lyon County League Tournament - it's been going on for almost 100 years. The Wednesday of the tourney is available for ESU games in White but they start playing a 8 a.m. on Saturday and the last tip is usually around 8 p.m. Semifinal Friday usually has around 4000 in the Auditorium and is the social event of the year for the small schools around Emporia.
I don't mind giving up White for that week. It's the week before when they bring in a bunch of small schools from farther away that only get 1500 for a day of games and of course the state tournament that keeps ESU on the road even if the Lady Hornets (or possibly Hornets) earn the #1 seed.
But that is the price you pay for being engaged in the community as a whole.

Can somebody explain to me why, on Dec. 19, Northwest Missouri State is playing Lincoln Memorial in Owensboro, Kentucky?
