Minnesota HS girls tourney is still allowing fans. Not sure what will happen with the boys next week.

A high school student who attended last week's girls tourney has tested positive for Covid 19. 10 confirmed cases in Nebraska, mostly in Omaha. Caution is justified. Omaha is NCAA D-1 tourney site. Stay safe out there, especially the old ones among us!

The NCAA makes most of their money from TV rights. As long as the games are televised, they still get most of their money. MSHSAA makes their money from butts in the stands. MSHSAA cares more about money than anything else.

Now looks like MSHSAA final 4 is limiting fans to immediate family and no 3rd place games

KSHSAA (Kansas) is having their state tourneys with fans. They too are money hungry. That is why we have so many classes and all are held at separate venues. Big time money grab.

Who has the deeper pockets? The NCAA of state high school athletic associations. To me this was smart by the NCAA to limit their liability for those attending.

Now that all of the pro leagues and the NCAA has cancelled everything, MSHSAA needs to do the same. If they don't, it's just further proof that they don't care about the health and safety of the kids. They only care about $$$$$$$.

While I agree they ought to cancel, how can you say anything amount money? The press release said that they were issuing 150 wristbands for people to attend. Unless they are charging an exorbitant amount for those wristbands, IMO it is not about the money. IMO it was about giving those kids a final chance to play in front of their families. Know a basketball ref and they were suppose to do the third place game in Springfield. Was called today and told the third place games would not be held and to not go to Springfield.

Spoke with a coach of a 5A school and there is talk that spring sports will be cancelled.
