  • MIAA--Week 7

Week 6 was an exciting week. Let's hope we can keep playing and let's hope that this week is as good as last week. The most intriguing games are at the top of the conference. Both MO West and NWMS go on the road to play a UNK and FHSU. This swing has caused a lot of problems for teams over the years. Also, FHSU and UNK have been playing better. The other really intriguing match-ups are MO Southern and Pitt State going on the road to play Emporia State and Washburn. Tough road trip for those teams but also dangerous opponents for Washburn and Emporia State. If MO Southern gets healthy they can beat anybody anywhere and Pitt State looks like a pretty hot team right now. Behind the 3 one loss teams in the conference is Lincoln with 2 losses and they go on the road to play Newman and UCO. UCO is one of the most talented team in the conference and they will be coming off a long lay-off due to COVID so that should be intriguing match-up as well.

Week 7 is off to an exciting start. MO West going down on the road at UNK and Washburn destroying MO Southern by 41 proves that anything is possible and every week is full of surprises. NWMS holds serve in a low scoring game at FHSU and Emporia State gets a hard fought win over a talented Pitt State squad. Hudgins goes for 29 and 8 for NWMS and Geiman goes for 28, 7 and 10 assists for Washburn to highlight the top individual performances for the weekend. Tough one for NWMS on Sat at UNK and another tough one for MO West at FHSU. Those two games will be interesting. Pitt State at Washburn should also be a good game as well.

MoWest has postponed their next 4 games due to CoVid19 protocols. They played UNK last night. Will the NW @ UNK game also need postponed?

Can MOSO retroactively postpone their last two games? Washburn shot the ball lights out last night ... but what a poor performance by MOSO.

I believe they said the positive individual was a staff member. Unless an actual MO West player tests positive today or tomorrow I would say they are safe to play. In the vast majority of situations, it takes a minimum of 2 days from exposure to be contagious if someone contracts it. Normally, it's more in the 4-5 day range before they are contagious. Will obviously depend on the type and length of interactions the positive individual had with UNK team and staff.

Bearcats hold serve today in Kearney 73-63 to a very tough UNK team. Finally get back to form from the free throw line, hitting 15 of 16 attempts. Bernard sat with a shoulder injury. Hopefully he will be back next week. Good road trip for the Bearcats.
