The MSSU women are playing extremely well. Beat UCO, had UCM down 7 before losing by 4 after having a chance to tie in the last 10 seconds. This is a much improved team and more balanced team than we've had in years. Will be interesting to see what the new year brings. Will learn a lot on the road trip to NW and MoWest at the beginning of the year.

Not that anybody asked...but here's my assessment of the season so far.

I've seen everyone in person except Hays, UNK and Southern...I'll see UNK on Thursday and Hays on Saturday...Southern in February twice in a week (thanks Covid...UGH) Southern is the only team I haven't seen at all.

Hays and UNK are showing to be the cream of the crop this year. UCM seems more vulnerable this year with a thin bench and a key early season injury.

Southern looks to be much improved...Western lacks a little consistency but they are scary, UCO you need strong post play to contend with them and if they're hitting 3's from the inside out game they're tough to beat. NW is definitely better and they'll drag you into their preferred style of game, still not convinced they're really good. This past week has kinda shown that. They're in every game though.

Pitt is really good WHEN they share the ball, but they haven't figured out that yet and they're suspect on the defensive end. Washburn seems a bit down this year, but is still a tough out, ESU...have they given up...they looked like they wanted to be somewhere else Thursday night at Pitt and got blown out Saturday at Southern too...

The bottom 4 are not good at all.

An unexpected week at the top due to MoSo having one heck of a road trip to Hays and UNK.
A very big match up this weekend as Hays travels north to UNK. No matter the situation this game always seems to be big but some bigger long term aspects are at stake this week.
I would imagine the winner will hold the upper hand for the rest of the season BUT MoSo showed us got to be ready every game.
5 weeks left to see how it all shakes out.

I've been impressed with your coach...last year they were young and not very good early on and got a hell of a lot better by year's end and this year they've looked really good. Those long and quick guards are a formidable group. Hoping they don't bring their "A" game on Saturday! ;)
