That kid was so easy to root for... Class act from beginning to end. Pretty good at basketball too.

I wish Trevor the best of luck in his pursuit of his new career. It was an honor and a privilege to follow his career. It was well worth it traveling all over the midwest to watch him and NW play.

Here's a little something I found on Trevor's tryout with the Booklyn Nets. Note: You have to scroll down a bit to, "Draft Sleeper Of The Week".

He also worked out for the Rockets. I'm sure he's had or will have a lot of workouts leading up to the draft and free agency that we won't even hear about.

We have a reason to watch summer league games now. Pretty cool.

Does anyone know what a 2 way contract means?

The way I understand it is that he has a base salary for G League plus separate allowances if he gets called up some(which was pretty common lately due to Covid). It seems to be the next best thing to getting drafted

Teams will sign players to a two way contract so that they have exclusive rights to them. These are generally players they want to protect and develop either in the G League (Normally) or it could even be practicing with the NBA team and having a non active roster spot. Each team can only have 2 two way players at a time. I believe everyone else in the G League is basically a free agent and can be called up and sent back by any team at any time... when that happens, they usually sign 10 day contracts. Two way players can only move between the NBA team they are signed with and its G League affiliate.

A two way player can play up to 50 games with the NBA club, but would not be eligible for the playoffs. However, a two way player can be signed to a new contract at any time if the club wants them for more than the 50 games or the playoffs. The positive of a two way contract is that it's more lucrative than a standard G League contract. If Hudgins is able to make it all season on his two way contract in 22-23, he will make $502K, which is the flat rate for a two way player (1/2 of the NBA rookie minimum salary). The downside is that none of it is guaranteed and he could be released at any time and his salary would only be paid up to that point.
