CACC member Concordia College will close at the end of the current semester. Students will complete their degrees in the teach-out process through Iona College. Iona College is also buying the Concordia College campus.

Concordia College New York to Close

Also see: Joint Statement from Concordia College New York and Iona College

The CACC isn't hurting for members but do they stay at 13 or seek a replacement.

Concordia in Portland also closed ... one week after raising $250K at a fund raiser. They returned the money. The Lutheran Church must have no clue on how to run a university.

They'll probably end up being at 12 sooner rather than later. University of the Sciences in Philadelphia is about to be taken over by St. Joseph's University, so that may result in the elimination of USciences' athletics (thread in the Atlantic Region forum):

CCNY is apart of the Concordia system that's been decimated in recent years - they've lost three schools since 2018, and two campuses merged in 2013. They are now down to five schools nationwide (counting the merger as one school).

It will be curious to see how the remaining schools fair in the upcoming years. I can't speak for every Concordia, but St. Paul is not a very well known school in Minnesota - unfortunately. Oddly enough, non-CUS Concordia-Moorhead is a fairly well-known school. Weird.

They have 7 schools nationwide (Ann Arbor, Chicago, Irvine, Nebraska, St. Paul, Texas and Wisconsin). Concordia New York was the latest to close.

I think Ann Arbor and Wisconsin are the same school, technically speaking - just two different campuses.

UPDATE: USciences sports programs will disappear after the merger with St. Joe's, so the CACC will drop to 12 schools.
