    Re: Div. II Arena Appreciation/Discussion

Awesome thread! I just love gyms and arenas and stadiums. In fact, I just have a fascination with any sorts of venues that are designed mass spectator seating, no matter the level, from high school, small college, large college, professional.

This is very similar to Cougar Palace home of Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff, Nebraska; which is 100 miles south of Chadron. I love that place.

            Thank you!

I am the same way too - I love these places. Sometimes I feel like I could sit in some of them and just appreciate the architecture, design aspects, and history of the space itself, even if there's no game going on. There aren't any other structures like them, that's for sure. So long as they have some character to them, or some history... I can enjoy them.

I may or may not have seen the inside of one... Bresnan Arena this afternoon. *cough*

Golden Gym - Point Loma Nazarene, San Diego California.

I love small school gyms with a "grand" feel to them - I think this counts.

Could they open that endwall facing the ocean with some curtainwall? That would be an awesome view.

I'd imagine they could. That would be such an awesome view. Their baseball field is much the same way - looks like home run balls land right in the ocean.

Another angle of John Lance Arena.
It's nothing insanely special, but they've made some nice improvements in the last five years or so.
