  • D2 Football Independents

D2 independent team Erskine College of Due West, SC released their schedule (moved up from 2020 due to Covid-19 concerns). This will be their first football season since they cut the program 69 years ago. And Barton College of Wilson, NC who play the Fleet in game 1 recently brought back football after 70 years.

Cool poster, nice to see schools adding football instead of cutting it. Wish it was in the West.

Still nothing from Post... I'm guessing they'll fill some open dates on NE-10 schedules.

Can someone explain the University of Ft. Lauderdale? I did some research and could not find out what classification they are in. NAIA? D-3? Christian academy affiliation? Looking at their previous schedule is a little puzzling. They play a bunch of prep/Christian schools, and then their last game was listed as Ole Miss? Thanks!

Beginning this fall, they are an NCCAA member and therefore a countable opponent. Previously they were in the National Club Football Association.

Looks like they're an Independent with a limited schedule for this year. Their short season begins tomorrow.

The Big Blue are off to a 2-1 start and ranked #16.

Interesting (at least to me) that their loss is to Lawrence Tech which is one of the schools on my GLIAC wish list.

Here's another new program. I'm not sure what Division they fall under? I'm guessing they're an Independent for the time being. They're 2-2 so far in their history.

They are definitely not either NAIA or NCAA, as they would put that on their own website. Their accreditation is from a career school national accreditation agency, so I guess they have no affiliation with any national or regional sports body.

They (unlike the former College of Faith) do have real classes and degrees at the Batchelors and Masters level.

I would guess they might ask to join the NE10 for football. It would give the league an even number of teams until New Haven moves up to D1.

They are a conversion from a sprint football team program...
