    Broderic Thomas
    3-10, 1-4, 2-2: 9 pts, 6 reb, 1 ast, 2 to

Hope we don't have to face him again, but Garrison outplayed Thomas by a ways last night. He's been an absolute warrior the past 3 weeks.
And he is the only player returning from last year that played significant minutes.

Hesser doesn't hesitate to go small with the lineup if the big guys aren't performing well. Hopefully this streak will continue into the postseason and again, allow the big men to get repetitions as they do have a ton of upside.

Hailey Diestelkamp is NCAA D2's National Player of The Week. The reigning National Player of the Year has averaged around 25 minutes of playing time for her career and will likely finish with at least 2200 points, 1100 rebounds and 400 steals.

The Lady Panthers won their 53rd consecutive GLVC game 98-67. Hailey Diestelkamp showed why she is the best player in the league. She scored 43 points on 16 of 24 and 3 of 4 from 3. She showed off her athleticism by converting 3 alley-oops, and played her usual stifling defense everywhere on the court while grabbing 10 boards.

The Panthers beat Jewell by 30. Cal Hartley showed why he was All Region in JUCO by scoring 28 on 9 of 12 and 6 of 8 from 3. He showed his athleticism by hitting tough shots and snagging 10 boards.

Kudos to the coaches as both Panther teams have shown improvement of late.

It likely would have been a blowout victory for Rockhurst if this game was played earlier in the season.
It was good to see Drury outscore Rockhurst 44-14 in the paint and out rebound the Hawks 38-25.
I hope they can extend the season to get the inside talent more reps. There is a lot of potential there.

Odd statistic of the day: Three Lady Panthers share the league lead in steals with 60 apiece.

I have seen some great performances this season by players from several different teams, none better than Garrison's against Illinois Springfield.

Starting in warmups, the kid was throwing down quick two handed jams off of two feet. He proceeded to score 38 points on contested threes, hard drives to the hoop, and finished against contact from forwards inside. He also made his presence felt on defense as he didn't get beat off the dribble or post ups. He also skied among the bigs to snare rebounds.

This season is winding down too soon, It's been fun.

Even though Drury's big men look like they are still needing reps, the Panthers beat Illinois Springfield behind Conley Garrison's 38 points and 8 rebounds. The Panther's motion offense eventually wore the Prairie Stars down allowing Drury to pull away at the end.

Lane Duncan had a big game on both sides of the ball and might be the spark Drury needs to finish the season strong.

Hopefully this winning streak isn't too little too late.

The Lady Panthers win 114-63 over 2nd place Lewis. In 17 minutes of playing time, Daejah Bernard collected seven steals, handed out eight assists and scored eight points while going turnover-free on the night. She also saved at least 5 other possessions by using her elite speed to win the 50/50 loose balls. The last three games Drury has scored 116, 93 and 114 while playing everyone.

Conley Garrison scored 25 points on seven of nine shooting from the field and seven of eight from the free throw line as the the Drury Panthers win a close one.

In other news, "William's Jewell's" beat Bellarmine.

The Lady Panther players need to improve their shooting form. They miss a lot of open shots because they are pulling back from following through and not staying on top of their shot. I've seen some screwed up footwork too.

I know playing at that pace can make it harder to be a consistent shooter, but this will come back to haunt them if not corrected. They almost lost to an outmanned Bellarmine squad because of the 58% to 38% shooting difference and the fact Bellarmine matched Drury's defense. The opposition can get good shots if they don't turn the ball over.

The outside shooting percentage needs to improve for this team to meet their goals in my opinion.

Congratulations to the Drury Cheerleading squad for winning the D2 National Championship. This adds to an already great game atmosphere at O'Reilly.
