Over 2 years later, his last words to his wife was in a letter she received after his death, stating his intent to quit touring and spend more time with them. He died in a plane crash at 30 years old, just 8 days before his son's 2nd birthday and the day before the release of one of his biggest hits, "I got a name". Time in a bottle reached number one on the billboard charts after Croce's death.

Other aviation crashes from memory and from the sports world: Kobe Bryant, Roberto Clemente, Payne Stewart, Thurman Munson, Roy Halliday, Rocky Marciano, Marshall University Football team, US figure skating team, entire Evansville men's basketball team, from Nascar: Davey Allison, Greg Biffle, Julian Martin, Alan Kulwicki, and dirt racer Scott Bloomquist. Also Will Rogers, John Kennedy. Man, I've psyched myself out. I just have to remember when I fly that turbulence is just invisible potholes in the sky.

*Keion Epps (all GLVC potential IMO)
*Christian Hughes (lots of D1 experience)
*Kevin Sargeant (strong defender/rebounder)
*Elijah Edosa (looks like the real deal)
*Kevin Thomas (all glvc as a freshman)
all starters are capable of a double double

Women:

*Reagan Halliday (could be a big asset at point if healthy)
*Kaylee King (would score more with Halliday at point IMO)
*Rhi Gibbons (would also benefit with Halliday at point)
*Candela Roy (if her juco numbers aren't a fluke)
*Sara Mendel (All American potential. Although, if Drury's improved depth allows them to press this season, there would potentially be less rebounding opportunities for this double double machine)

Drury is WAY ahead of all other GLVC programs by releasing their schedule and roster information early this summer.

Southwest Baptist started classes over a week ago. Neither team has posted rosters. I know in the past the women held tryouts for walk-ons. I guess they could be waiting for paperwork to be finalized on a player(?), maybe keeping secret what they have until the last minute.

Arizona State is serious about keeping former Drury Lady Panther head coach Molly Miller, as she received a one year contract extension through 2030-2031 and base pay increases to $850,000 starting May 1, 2027, with subsequent raises reaching $1 million by May 1, 2030. Total compensation is valued at around $4.45 million.

Also, her media exposure in Arizona is still skyrocketing. Proving once again she is one of the hottest coaches in America.

Killing time before a road trip to a race. There is not much to look at basketball wise. Molly is the best at creating content to keep a fan base engaged, so I look there often for updates. I didn't know Arizona State Women's Basketball basketball broke their all time attendance record last season. I believe only the elite programs still have positive numbers in this area so this is great news for ASU.
This is a good time to share a Molly legend story: "On Feb. 7, 2008 Carter spearheaded one of the most unbelieveable comebacks imaginable. That night, in Rolla, Missouri, the Lady Panthers were down, 62-53, with 27 seconds left on the clock. What transpired over those final seconds was nothing short of miraculous as the Lady Panthers outscored the Lady Miners 10-1, with Carter scoring eight of the 10 points en route to a 79-69 overtime win. It was typical Molly Carter who, on the night, had 30 points, four assists and five steals. "
What this story leaves out according to post game interviews, is the fact Lady Miner players were laughing as it appeared the upset was sealed, infuriating Molly. It also left out that at least 2 of Molly's steals were in that last 27 seconds of regulation.
And she continues to win in spectacular fashion.
