Good riddance, I'll leave it at that. As if that isn't enough, Coach Foster hasn't coached since November 29th as he deals with a "Medical issue".
Clay Gayman had enough talent to be an all-GLVC guy, but he sure as heck didn't play like it for most of his short tenure. He's a good shot blocker, an excellent free-throw shooter, and skilled for a guy his size. Unfortunately, he was also a walking turnover and didn't play much defense. His brother Dalton isn't good enough to play at this level - which he's now proven at both D2 schools he's been at. The fact they both quit 9 games into the year speaks more about them than anything they did on the court.

Agreed. I felt like Clay was finally starting to put it together, so abruptly losing him is disappointing. Makes me wonder if they'll give Asa Hutchinson a shot or just up the minutes for Naeger. I've heard the pair quit over Dalton's lack of playing time, which if true, is silly. Dalton could probably lift a truck with all his strength, but doesn't have an ounce of basketball in him.

      • The Lady Panthers win big against a very good Michigan Tech team after falling behind by 12 early and trailing by 7 at the half. Drury came out after halftime and outscored Tech 28 to 5 in the third quarter to put the game out of reach and at one time led by 26 before winning by 17.

This was a team effort by Drury, but Paige Robinson stole the show by scoring 36 points on full court drives, pull up jumpers, post moves and defended three point shots. Her defensive effort was also extraordinary as she had 8 rebounds, 4 steals, a block, drew a charge and was quick in all aspects of her game. She went down with an injury late in the game and didn't return to the floor. I pray THIS injury doesn't affect her going forward. This is one tough kid.

        • Only seven players played for the Panthers last night who were without two more players, including their best big man in Obi Okafor who is out with a foot injury. The season outlook is bleak as Coach Foster has missed his fourth straight game with health issues.

Michigan Tech Womens coach Clayton's comments on Robinson: "Robinson is an outstanding player with 36 points tonight. I thought we did a decent job defending her but she just made some difficult shots."

            • NCAA.com has the Lady Panthers ranked number 1 this week. I would say this is much deserved because of the price one has to to pay to play at that level, though Lubbock is still the team to beat IMO.

The highlight video in this article is from last season's national championship loss and highlights Paige Robinson's typical offensive game and Drury's version of Robert Horry in Payton Richards hitting timely shots like she has numerous times in her career.

The conference has improved this season IMO with numerous teams capable of an upset. Rockhurst, Southern Indiana and UMSL are among these.

No update on Robinson. I'd expect her to miss games. Question is how long. Okafor will be fine. Day to day. Foster is being kept very quiet.

                • The Lady Panthers took a hit with the news that reigning D2 POY Paige Robinson will be out until mid February.
More sobering news as multiple college teams will miss upcoming games due to Covid, including the Drury Men who will miss their next two games due to the Covid Protocol.

                  • The Lady Panthers force 34 turnovers to beat William Jewell 90 to 42. Drury has several important players out including 2 starters. Some players have already been playing through significant pain, one has upcoming off season surgery that was scheduled back in November. Hopefully this team can continue to win and have players back by the postseason. This could be the opportunity the other GLVC teams have been looking for.

Side note: #1 Lubbock Christian lost by 17 to a 6-4 team opening the door for a possible move to the top slot for Drury. I heard second hand that loss by LC was because of Covid.

                    • Looks like Coach Eagan has landed one of the best players in Oklahoma. Ellie Brueggemann, a 5'10 junior guard has had multiple D1 offers, her first came early in her sophomore year from Washington State. She looks like a Paige Robinson type who can do it all, including shooting deep threes with unusual accuracy.
She also was a big-time player on a big-time Elite traveling team who were national champions.

Big game for the Shorthanded DU Women tonight at SBU. This is a big local rivalry that Drury has dominated. This is an opportunity for the Lady Bearcats to get one of the biggest wins in their history by knocking off number 1 Drury.

                        • The Lady Panthers play at 7-2, regionally ranked Illinois Springfield today. The Lady Star's confidence has to be soaring for this game as they are coming off an 8 point win at defending Missouri Valley Champion Bradley. Add the fact they went on the road and beat the only team Drury lost to this season when the Lady Panthers still had 4 of the five players currently not dressing out.

Big opportunity for both teams as they still are able to put a team on the floor at this stage in history.

All things considered, including missing the superb depth and decent size they had 3 weeks ago, this was a very impressive win by the Lady Panthers who were down by 13 at the half, outscoring UIS by 24 in the second half.
There is a lot of talent in this league and understandably Drury gets everyone's best shot. Praying this virus from Hell doesn't interrupt a third straight season.

                              • Another AMAZING comeback for The Lady Panthers who were down by 17 at the half and came back with a 32 point 4th quarter to win by 14 over a good Lewis team. This was Drury's fourth game in 7 days and 17th game overall and the fatigue shows. But these girls don't give up.

Kaylee DaMitz will be in the running for GLVC player of the year if she keeps playing at this level and Terrion Moore will be in the running for defensive player of the year. Findley will be all league.

The next three games are on the road and could be the toughest league trip with stops at Rock U and Truman.
