I actually don't think it's that far-fetched to see Drury in the top-8 this week. Four of their 10 losses (West Texas, Concordia CA, Azusa Pacific, and Barry) don't count as regional losses, and they now have two wins against UMSL, a road win at USI, and a 40-point (I know, margin doesn't matter) home win against the probable #1 in Lewis. Their biggest problem is that four of their wins are negated also (St. Mary, William Woods, Central Christian, St. Thomas) so that hurts the W/L% from the other side, and the home loss to Upper Iowa isn't pretty. But, this year in particular, when you're looking at 7-8-9-10, there's going to be a bit more "ugly" than maybe in years past.

Horrible call with just a few seconds left to play. Indy player 1. was out of control and 2. didn't have possession of the ball as it got poked loose.

The quality of officiating in this conference is poor overall, and worse on the west side of the conference. Not that they need it, but Bellarmine isn't getting that called on them in the last few seconds of the game on their home floor....not 1 chance in a million.

There hasn't been just one thing...it's been everything you can imagine. Poor play at times, injuries, sickness, ridiculous travel woes, bad officiating - you name it, this team has been through it since November 1.

Drury has now lost 8 games by a combined 20 points, and one of those was an OT game. If you take that out, in regulation this year it's been 8 games by a combined 14 points. They put together 3 really good halves of basketball in a row this weekend, though. Played very well in the second half against Indy, just missed some open shots or it would've been 2 victories over what are probably the 2nd and 3rd best teams in the conference. They really exercised some demons against Lewis...DU beat them every way possible. I haven't seen that big an a$$ kicking against a talented team since Bellarmine's laugher over USI in the regional in '13. Just need to keep it going and turn the corner.

    Drury loses to Barry 82-81.

Big time travel issues on the way down there. Team was supposed to leave Friday afternoon out of Springfield - had 2 flights canceled in Springfield due to weather. Drove to St Louis and spent the night. Got up at 3am to be at the airport for a 5:30 flight. That flight got canceled. Caught a 7:30am flight to New York City, barely made the connection to Miami, got into Miami at 6pm last night. Ended up traveling for about 30 hours and then had to play Barry 18 hours after arriving.

Got down 22 in the second half and came all the way back to take the lead late. Barry makes 1 of 2 free throws with 2.5 seconds left for the difference. Drury banks in a 30 footer at the buzzer, but didn't get it off in time. Everything considered, showed some major grit.

I did forget Brooke. Her valuable contribution off the bench is a major plus for this team.
The ladies are number 4 in the national poll this week. They will have to back this lofty ranking up when they get into conference play against the likes of Lewis, USI and Bellarmine.
Hopefully the men can put together a string of victories. I see a player transferred to SBU of all places.

The Lady Panthers are number 1 in the nation in six statistical categories including:
    Assists per game (22)
    Steals per game (17.8)
    Total steals (142)
    Turnover margin (13.63)
    Turnovers forced per game (31.88)
They are also ranked number 6 in the nation.
There are only 3 upperclassmen on this team, including a returning all conference player who has not played a game yet this season.

The best coaches have teams that play their best ball at the end of the season. Drury will be in the hunt in the end.

Drury Women win a rivalry game against SBU. Ugly game in which 64 free throws were shot. Hailey Diestelkamp had a monster game scoring 42 points and grabbing 17 rebounds.
Drury needs players to start making wide open shots. They were 6 for 25 from beyond the arc.

Drury Women pick up another athletic commit for next season. This one from Cincinnati. Drury will probably announce the signing later this week.
