    Re: Drury Panthers

Man times have changed. I used to roll the rubber band off my main news source and scour the sports page looking for SMSU and Drury College summer signees.

Drury's basketball programs seem to get a lot of very early signees.
Going after kids earlier is the trend all across college basketball. At the D2 level, Bellarmine has been getting commitments from kids before their senior year starts for quite some time now.

The Panthers will be deep and talented especially at the guard spot. I would love to see them press more utilizing the athleticism they have.
The Lady Panthers lost two First Team All GLVC players to graduation and a third teamer to injury until the second semester I'm told.
They will be very young, talented and athletic. They also have a big girl that can pull the rim down. Hopefully that translates to the court in a positive way.

    More on Molly's latest recruit:
Holmes was the 2017 Arkansas Prep Female Athlete of the Year following her senior season at Fayetteville High School. She won five state titles in three different sports during her senior year as she helped the Bulldogs to state championships in basketball, volleyball, and track & field and she won individual state track & field titles in the long jump and 4 x 100-meter relay.
Fayetteville is in the large school (7A) class in Arkansas.

Drury Women signed another D1 transfer, a guard who wanted to be closer to her family. She was considered the second best player on the North Texas team this past season.
The following is quoting the UNT coach after signing her a year ago:
"Lauren Holmes is a championship athlete, period," Mitchell said. "You name it, she can do it. Her speed, leaping and defensive abilities will leave you in awe. I am so proud of this young lady and all that she has accomplished. There is much more where that came from. Our Mean Green fans will love her personality and spirit. Lauren's hard work and desire for excellence helps her to achieve any goal she sets her heart and mind to.

"Watch out for this gem", she added.

She ended up on the Conference USA all freshmen team last season.
It's safe to say Molly has reloaded.

He is a big guy who has a quick shot and is a strong finisher at and above the rim. Looks like he will be a good fit with the returning young athletic core who are a year into Hesser's system.
I would imagine expectations are high for the coming season.

Weakest "I overheard" crap my young teenagers won't even pull. Reminds me of another poster besides Silky.

This guy is another Silky. BTW, didn't he say Watson was going to be fired by now?

BTW, that was the same official that called both the foul at the end and the technical. The other official out front had a better view of it and he wasn't going to call anything.

Big stretch going from "maybe she should've gotten 2 FT" to "she got 4 FT". Also a pretty big stretch to say that making 2 at the end of the game isn't a whole lot easier when you get 4 shots at it rather than having to go 2 for 2 to put the game out of reach.

Drury shot as few as 6 FT attempted in a game this season (prior to AU game). They attempted 10 or fewer FTs in a game nine times (but only twice since January 21).
I'm just curious since you looked up game by game stats, how many of those games were on Ashlands home floor?
