Thank you for the kind words - I'll certainly miss wasting my time on this forum and I will be happy to hand off my spreadsheet to anyone who wants it, though it appears Inkblot may have improved upon my system at this point.

Soooo...I was way off on my predictions. Apparently the gap between 3rd and 4th was way wider than I thought, and losing both games in the week only dropped Truman to 3rd. And Findlay and Cedarville are both getting way more credit than I would have guessed. USI can't catch a break being the next team out once again. Hats off to Inkblot on his much closer predictions.

          Update thru 3/1 -
Tracking ranked team results, including the next 5 teams out using Monday's PI (USI, Malone, Lewis, GVSU, LSSU). Green = no losses, Orange = mixed results, red = all losses.
The next loss for any team will result in elimination from conference tournaments. This looks like bad news already for Ashland, who was right on the bubble with a few teams still fighting to get in (go screaming eagles)

          1. Walsh (19-5): (GMAC host site) Plays Findlay on Friday, then winner of Cedarville/Hillsdale on Saturday.
          2. Ferris State (21-7): Plays at home vs Davenport on Wednesday, then winner of GVSU/SVSU on Saturday, then winner of [LSSU/NMU]/[UWP/MTU] on Sunday.
          3. Truman State (18-8): Won at home vs Rockhurst (7-20). Plays UIndy on Friday, then winner of McKendree/Lewis on Saturday, then winner of [SBU/WJ]/[USI/UMSL] on Sunday.
          4. Hillsdale (20-6): Plays Cedarville on Friday, then winner of Walsh/Findlay on Saturday.
          5. Findlay (17-9): Won on the road at Malone (16-10). Plays at Walsh on Friday, then winner of Cedarville/Hillsdale on Saturday.
          6. Michigan Tech (19-6): Plays at home vs Wisconsin-Parkside on Wednesday, then winner of LSSU/NMU on Saturday, then winner of [Davenport/Ferris]/[GVSU/SVSU] on Sunday.
          7. Southwest Baptist (17-5): Plays William Jewell on Thursday, then winner of USI/UMSL on Saturday, then winner of [UIndy/Truman]/[McKendree/Lewis] on Sunday
          8. Ashland (17-9): Lost at home to #10 Cedarville (17-11). ELIMINATED
          9. Missouri-St. Louis (20-6): Won at home vs Drury (9-15). Plays Southern Indiana on Friday, then winner of SBU/WJ on Saturday, then winner of [UIndy/Truman]/[McKendree/Lewis] on Sunday
          10. Cedarville (17-11): Won on the road at #8 Ashland (17-9). Plays Hillsdale on Friday, then winner of Walsh/Findlay on Saturday.

Tonight gives USI their only chance to make it in, with a statement revenge game against UMSL, who was the team that shattered their chances in the last week. Then, if they win, they get to follow up with William Jewell, who was USI's biggest regrettable game on the season. I'm REALLY hoping they can make it there and win.

Definite bid thieves from GLIAC and GLVC. Who are the 5 AFTER Walsh???? Are Ferris and Truman safe??? If so, which 3 teams make field between Hillsdale, Findlay, Michigan Tech, UMSL (if they don't win GLVC), and Cedarville?

I'm not one to b!tch (that's a lie) but it would be nice if all of the leagues could get their championships played on Saturday so that we could get the regional pairings earlier on Sunday.

Thanks Dave for wrapping this up. I hardly get a chance to get on here on weekends and had a very busy day yesterday.

You want to blame someone, blame the GLIAC for letting a 10-10 regular season conference team, last seed in the conference tournament win the tournament and get an auto bid.

The Committee placed a big weight on record against ranked opponents throughout the process. It was discussed how Findlay kept being ranked higher than RPI and PI indicated. They remained consistent in that with seeding and selection.

UMSL was #2 in RPI and PI yet ended up 5 Seed due to 1-4 record against ranked teams.

With Davenport winning GLIAC only Top 7 would make tournament.

                              RPI Rank:
MI Tech, Findlay, Cedarville, SW Baptist

                              PI Rank:
MI Tech, SW Baptist, Findlay, Cedarville

                              Ranked Results
SW Baptist (2-1), Cedarville (8-7), Findlay (7-8), MI Tech (1-3)

The GMAC was fortunate, like GLVC was in years past; by being considered the strongest conference. It enabled teams to get more games against ranked opponents.

I was quite surprised Cedarville got in. Not surprised about Findlay, but did not expect Cedarville to be jumped that many spots after Davenport won the GLIAC.
