  • 12 year of Ashland University Womens Basketball

Ashland's last 12 years of Women's Basketball is worth looking back on.

They had an overall record of 359-39

    They were 194-13 at home.

They played in 5 National Championship games.

    They won 3 of them.

They have 7 30+ win seasons

They hold the longest win streak in D2 women's basketball at 73 games.

They had 3 undefeated seasons ( 2017,2020,2022) *2020 ended with no postseason*

All this with 3 different head coaches.

Pretty remarkable what Sue Ramsey started, what now Michigan State womens basketball coach Robyn Fralick took to the next level, and what now head coach Kari Pickens has been able to maintain. Hopefully they will be able to keep building on their success for the next 12 years.

That run is absolutely amazing and on a whole other level. We've seen championship teams come and go, but teams like Ashland don't know the meaning of the word "rebuilding". And most importantly, their culture isn't influenced by outside forces. That is the ultimate advantage that most can't comprehend.
