Re: G-MAC All-Sports and Conference Business Thread

I get the feeling MEC is scared to death and would start a recruiting war with the G-MAC. During the AB game on ESPN MEC was an after thought. Strongest statement was "they are doing okay"

My understanding has been from the rumor mill that the MEC is forcing Wheeling out because of their refusal to start football! The G-MAC is the logical move if that is the case.

        Big Volleyball Weekend:

Saturday is the day! The much anticipated match up with Trevecca and Cedarville! The match is at 2:00 Eastern time! I am anticipating a slugfest! Trevecca does a great job with their live coverage! Here is the link! https://portal.stretchinternet.com/trevecca/

Of course both teams have to focus on a match tonight (Cedarville at KWC & Trevecca vs. OVU) first. If either team solely has their focus on Saturday, it could spell trouble on Friday as both KWC and OVU have been playing very well as of late.

According to a quote from the WJU AD, in this article, the GLIAC or the PSAC would be their possible options.

That's interesting. 1) They don't join G-MAC for Lacrosse, 2) AD lists the GLIAC or the PSAC as their possible options (both of which seem like a stretch)

Do they not get along with the G-MAC institutions?, or is this a smokescreen?

BTW - I really don't think the MEC will force WJU out (if they don't start football). I'm sure there are many in the MEC who would like to. However, I think status quo benefits the MEC - and they likely know it.

This is just MY OPINION, so please don't read anything into it. It's been no secret, that I'm not a big fan of WJU. To me, they've always seemed uppity or holier than thou. Maybe they view the G-MAC as beneath them. After all, that's where the deplorable folks like AB, D&E and OVU had to go when the WVIAC broke up.

Anyway, would I care if they suddenly joined the G-MAC? No. Do I care what they think of us, or do I care if they don't want to join us? Again, No.

hey they are holier than me. GLIAC is stupid statement G-MAC does not need a school that talks too much and talks foolish stuff.

FYI. Trevecca wins round 1 of the volleyball rematch in Nashville! Next round at the end of the month in Cedarville. Could be a new queen at the top of G-MAC volleyball!

I think TNU would argue that they are already the queen - as defending champs and preseason favorites.

Hope CU can reverse the trend in a few weeks!

Can anyone post the AB roster? I have lost track of the redshirts etc. Thanks

Is there an auto bid in D@ football?

No. For football, they have something called "earned access." It is, sorta, an auto bid, but to qualify the conference team would have to be ranked in the top 10 in the region.

For example. Lets say, next year, that the G-MAC does not have a team ranked in the top 7 in the region. But, they have a conference champ that is ranked 10th in the region. Via earned access, they would be one of the 7 teams to make the playoffs. If our conference champ wasn't ranked in the top 10, they don't make it.
