  • Re: G-MAC All-Sports and Conference Business Thread

I tried to watch a couple of times. I am sure that less than 5% of the time the ball went where a player wanted it to go. Many times it was just kick it and get it away from me. Throwing a ball in a peach basket makes for so much more fun.

Soccer....It's a gateway sport, you know.

(full disclosure - all 3 of my daughters play/played HS soccer)

My wife played soccer in high school, so I hate on it to annoy her when given the opportunity.

Oh and btw, AB needs Cedarville to take care of business against Ohio Dominican in the worst way. HOWEVER, ODU is up 2 - nil. Ughh

Nice. I see we draw Ohio Valley.

Rumors on the football board, and some from LEC fans, are that their is a strong possibility that Lake Erie drops football in a couple of years. They are currently 0-10 and lost 44-0 to D3 Thomas More this weekend. They won't win this weekend either as they play Ohio Dominican.

If LE is going to drop football, that means the G-MAC would need to look at other possible schools for expansion. I would assume just possibly adding Ashland would not be enough. Thoughts?

I posted on another thread here that LEC dropping football would probably cost them at least 150 students (if not more). So, even if they aren't competitive, I have some doubts whether or not the LEC admin will drop the sport.

Assuming that they do however, NDC and Urbana are out there. I know that folks poo-poo Urbana anytime they are mentioned. However, they seem to have gotten their fiscal and accreditation issues resolved (as Franklin University) and could fill a spot if needed.

                        No offense taken.

In Lake Erie's 4 home games, so far this year, average attendance is 586.5. So, will they be able to support football if that continues? Just wondering.

Congrats to OVU (x2), Tiffin and Walsh soccer. Good luck at Regionals.
