    Re: Alderson Broaddus Basketball

Not basketball......but a really good move by the school, and having a retired superintendent running the program is another good move. Joe Super is a good dude!

News on a recruit out of Cincy, OH forthcoming.

I think it is time to say and emphasize more that being in the G-MAC is opening some recruiting doors more and more. This kid is in the same area as Butler was from. I repeat that being able to tell recruits that your family can see you play some games close to home is a huge factor. I understand the travel costs and missed class time. That is true too. It would be nice to add WV Wesleyan and we seem to still be playing Salem in every thing even though they aren't in the conference....which I think we should.

No doubt! I would be ecstatic if the G-MAC added Wesleyan!

JDon, Do you know when we have the exhibition with Wesleyan? I didn't write it down and it's no longer on the, posted, schedule.

JDon a really good review. Better than most PR types. It looks to me that AB should play the newcomers and look to next year. While the those players returning have good games they are are streaky and seem to be afraid to make mistakes which causes more mistakes. Looks like the newcomers can run, jump, shoot with anyone.

Did the juco from Cleveland not make grades?

              Re: Alderson Broaddus Basketball

When we signed Mike Davis, it was known he had to finish course work at Lakeland CC this semester. He was always set to come in second semester and practice but not play in games. That has been the deal from the start. He would then have two years after this season. There is always that chance he doesn't get work done. But his clock is ticking and his options are running out so that may motivate him.

I will always say this about Jordan, Manny and Sanar. They have been good for AB the past four years. Zimmerman highlighted their practice contributions when we won the first G-MAC championship. They are walk-ons who will graduate and have great attitudes no matter what their role is. Chavez has tools and could really be a key cog if he can just get over the hump.

It was originally supposed to be at UC on Tuesday, November 1st and at home vs Wesleyan on Thursday, November 3rd. You might want to email Coach Williams or Coach Wamsley to double-check because scrimmages do change. I believe the Wesleyan time was 6:30.

Big thumbs up for the school for making an effort!!! That is all you can ask.

We have offered Lonnie Grayson, a guard out of Wyoming HS in Cincinnati, OH. More to follow in the coming days.

Grayson has also been offered by Ashland already too.

                          Re: Alderson Broaddus Basketball

Bench/practice players are very important in practice and in the locker room. I spent lots of time playing like the team we play next. On of my favorite times is when the coach said " stop that he is not that good". In my mind I helped us win.

I have to emphasize to check with coaches on that Wesleyan scrimmage. I know our scrimmage with UC got moved to today. That is different than was on the schedule a month ago. UC got a late exhibition with Marshall this week.

                              Will do. Thanks JDon.

If I heard this correctly, Beckley Woodrow Wilson guard Isaiah Francis was on campus yesterday. This is a real good thing. He knows some of our current players. This would be the second time he has been on campus as he participated in the Elite Camp over the summer. He was 2nd-team AAA all-state as a junior and a likely 1st-team this season.

Hats off to the student SGA for drumming up student support for the G-MAC semis in men's soccer today. They are paying the admission price of our first 50 students attending over at Elkins today. I hope our guys have a good crowd.
