    Re: RMAC Men's Preseason Polls

I'm glad WNMU left the RMAC and joined the Lone Star Conference.

Chadron State is rated based on where they have finished most of the last 2 decades. Dead last, or near it. Well, they might be finally turning the ship around. A coach is entering his 2nd year, who has an incredible record of success at the JUCO level. He is bringing in very talented recruits and getting them to buy into his system of emphasizing defense.

Currently, Chadron has finished 3-2 (5-6 overall) in conference in the 2018 portion of the schedule. They have some super talented players, but we will see how far they will take this team this year. Personally, I think Chadron will finish around .500 in conference play at year's end and will widely be considered the most improved team in the RMAC this year.

Chadron State is now 8-8 overall, 6-4 in RMAC. Since the New Year, Chadron is 3-2. Their 2 losses have been heartbreakers. They blew a 9 point lead with about 1:20 left to Fort Lewis. Fort Lewis hit a 3 at the buzzer in regulation to tie and ran away in overtime. At Westminster, down by 3, Chadron got fouled on a 3 pointer with 1 second left and then a technical gave Chadron a total of 5 free throws. Make 4 and they win. They made 3, and lost in overtime.

Still, Chadron's 6-4 is currently good for 6th (tied with Black Hills) in the RMAC.

Tomorrow night they host CSU-Pueblo. At 3-7, this looks to be a winnable game, but all conference games are tough. Hopefully they win and get the weekend sweep and continue their climb in the RMAC standings.

        EDIT:

Chadron State downs Pueblo to complete the weekend sweep as they continue their climb up the RMAC standings.
