SMU is staying pretty local in hiring SPSCC's coach from down the freeway in Olympia. He was also an assistant at Concordia before that. The top coach in the NWAC it sounds like.

On paper, looks good, has some GNAC experience and took his JC to really good heights, also coached St. Martin's Luke Chavez in JUCO. Has a Cali background (where he got Chavez), hits a lot of good buttons to get the job.
