St. Martin's crushes a very good MSUB team; UAA handles WWU in Bellingham (the gloss is off the WWU program); NNU by 1 at CWU; WOU surprisingly beats SPU; and UAF pounds Simon Fraser.

UAA on a 3 game win streak. I give up trying to figure out this team. Sometimes they play like the worst team in the league and sometimes they roll. I will say again, WWU doesn’t play really big and I’ve noticed a trend that it’s the bigger teams that give them the most problems.

The league is somewhat puzzling except that MSU-Billings and St. Martin's are really good

WOU returned almost everyone from last year and had the pre-season conference player of the year and a great new recruit in Collins and they suck at 10-11. NNU was picked 2nd in the pre-season poll, they're at fourth and only .500 on the year. WWU was picked 3rd, they're 7th. You never know I guess, picking winners and losers in D2 ball is tough. The league needs to get better, IMO.

The coaches' preseason poll had this written all over it - nobody knew what was going to happen this year. https://www.gnacsports.com/mbasketba...reseason-poll/. I have been enjoying watching the Nooks as of late; they aren't getting as many wins as they want or as I want, but they are playing a lot better now than compared to the beginning of the season. They only have one senior on the roster, so I'd really like to see Sparling keep these guys around so they aren't starting from scratch again next season. I don't think the odds are good for them to make the GNAC tourney at this point... I think the top 5 teams right now in the GNAC will make it in (MSUB, SMU, SPU, NNU, & WOU), I just don't know who the 6th place team will be that gets in.
