  • St. Martin's strong start

I think the Saints are 8-0 and once again will be challenging for the Great Northwest Athletic Conference men's basketball championship. I admire what they've done and building up that program first with Alex Pribble and now Aaron Landon, whom they found right down the road at South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia. Great hire by Saint Martin's.

Building up a strong basketball program is tough. Maintaining it is equally as difficult. I have to tip my hat to the Saints, they seem like they've done it right with good recruiting and great coaching.

I jinxed the Saints, they had their first loss of the year. However, they barely lost to West Coast power Point Loma, 92-88. Saints shot over 55 percent from the field and 3-point line. They're going to be tough to beat in the GNAC.

I saw St Martins was on the weekly D2 top 10 power rankings with a bunch of power teams. CWU might have received the pre-season nod for the GNAC, but I expect a dog fight.........again...........in the GNAC.
