Let's hear it for Central Washington University as they signed a really good high school player from in state today. Western Oregon also offered on the guy I was hoping they would offer on from Salem, Oregon. Both are big guards and very talented.

So happy to see high school kids getting recruited as of late they've been an endangered species. The portal has really hurt high school recruiting.

I hope Central's recruit does great and I hope Western Oregon gets the guy from Salem. Bring on the preps!

SPU stole a recruit from WWU's turf in Brant Heppner from Lynden HS, who also happens to be the State football 2A player of the year as a quarterback. Falcons also are getting back Theo McMillan, who was originally on their team but then played at Clark College last season.

CWU, WWU, and SPU all offered Auburn Mountainview PG Sebastian Arius, who was initially committed to Western Oregon but then decommitted with the coaching change.

I'm cautiously optimistic for CWU. I know we lost Holden. Don't know about anyone else.

As for WOU, maybe all it takes is one or two HS guys to give other guys motivation to consider the Wolves.

Great point, I think it's a 3-year rebuild at WOU even with the portal. I'm okay with that as long as it gets rebuilt, we create an identity, and discover the state of Oregon again. I'm really hoping Stanley from Sprague High School in Salem signs. I saw him play four times this year and he's really explosive.

D2 (IMO) should be a great division for high school athletes.

Jarod Stanley of Sprague High School in Salem, Oregon, commits to WOU. This was the one recruit I really hoped they'd get. He's a 6-4 guard, very athletic and explosive. Great get by coach Orton.
