i can agree with most of this ...i felt like there was a decent balance with mercyhurst gannon lake erie and a couple others who gave a little relief from the grinder but ultimately i believe the better competition you play the better you become

Two sided coin... You do become better as long as ones players don't get too beat up. But I suspect an injury is possible regardless with the level of the competition. Though I suspect the starters would get less playing time.

There is something to be said about being able to perform better week in and week out when you're not in the meat grinder of a league like the GLIAC. It's got to be the right balance. You need to be challenged enough and pushed to get better but not beaten to a pulp.

amazing how teams get better when they leave the conference

There is something to be said about being able to perform better week in and week out when you're not in the meat grinder of a league like the GLIAC. It's got to be the right balance. You need to be challenged enough and pushed to get better but not beaten to a pulp.

That's incredible. Every team that has left the GLIAC in the last four years because they were getting stomped is ranked or receiving votes besides Walsh and Malone. And then UIndy from just a little after that. Crazy how that happens, huh?

Quite true. Although getting outscored at a 45-10 clip through 7 games is nothing to overlook.

Of the ranked teams, only Notre Dame College left the GLIAC because "they were getting stomped". They couldn't leave fast enough.
Don't leave out the Mighty Storm of Lake Erie College who after leaving the GLIAC has gone on to reach new depths as likely the worst team in Division II.

Hillsdale, Tiffin, ODU, and Findlay were 75-58 combined from 2014 to 2016...hardly getting "stomped". Heck, ODU was 26-9 over that stretch. Even if you take those numbers out, the other three are an even 49-49. Do you guys keep this dead horse in a Lubbers Stadium concession stand freezer for convenient beating or is it in an easy-to-access shallow grave out by the Jesus station's TV tower?

lol GVSU dropped a spot in the poll even though they beat a team that was receiving votes last week (and is still receiving votes).

Loosing to WT was bad, WT controlled the game from the start, the only time they trailed was after CWU first score and thats because WT couldnt get an extra point to save their lives(1-4 for the game).

CWU turned the ball over twice.

If WT was better that game at their xps its a 5 point swing in their favor and the score is 33-24 with 7 of CWUs points comming in garbage time.

The turnovers hurt CWU, but you said they were beaten badly. That means a 2 point loss is being beaten badly, which makes only a 1 point loss a close loss. I'm sorry you don't see what you typed, unless you meant it was a bad loss and not beaten badly.

As well, you seem to think D1-FCS losses count in regional rankings even though they don't. If NDSU lost to Alabama, should they be kept out of the D1-FCS playoffs? That is the equivalent kind of loss. As it is, EWU lost to the #14/13 team in D1-FBS and they are still #4 also with a loss to Weber State in conference as well. In your world, they shouldn't be ranked at all.

I guess using your "logic", CWU's loss to WTAMU is forgivable since it was the home opener in a remodeled facility and the kids just didn't handle the emotional aspect well....

I find it interesting how you can argue in this manner, yet excuse where you feel the need.

For the sake of argument, how do you stand on TAMUC, which barely beat TAMUK? Is that kind of a bad win?

I just realized arguing about these polls is like arguing that an MLB player isn't worth his salary.

Its not great, but its also 1st game of the season.

Commerce has not been great this year either. And their schedule is only a little better right now.

So a team should be punished for winning games? You can only play the teams on your schedule.

Have you seen a CWU game? Aside from WTAMU?

Happens all the time. More so in the polls, but also happens in the regional rankings.
