There's six teams that hold land or have a chance at it this week. UMD, BSU, MSU, WSU, USF, Augie. Due to the pod system, after this week no one among UMD, MSU, and USF will play BSU, WSU, or Augie, nor will there be any common opponents through which land can be transferred.

No system is perfect, but something sticks out to me here.

Valdosta State defeated Albany State in week 1 to get ASU's territory. ASU beat West GA in week 3 and reentered the map. VSU and UWG play later in the season. Should VSU win the game, they would have beaten both ASU and UWG but wouldn't hold the home territory of both schools which are also in VSU's home state.

Interesting situation in the GAC. If Harding and Ouachita both win out (as most expect), it looks like Harding will wind up with almost all the land in the GAC with Ouachita having just a little bit - even though we beat them in week one. Basically a situation where HU is going around and beating teams before OBU plays them! Only if UAM does well can OBU pick up much more land.

New map is up, with 167% more Wayne State (MI).

This is a little puzzling. Truman beat Wayne State in week 2. Wayne State beat Quincy in week 3. Truman beat Quincy in week 4. But yet, Wayne State still gets to keep everything of Quincy's just because of when who beat who?

Yep. A team has to have the land at the time you beat them in order for you to get anything.

Thems the rules, but it does get weird when a team beats a team with a loss and gets nothing for it. Yet a team with multiple earlier losses can clean up with a recent win. It's a cute exercise, but not sure what it correlates to in the end. Should be interesting as the weeks roll by.

I don't exactly think it's meant to correlate to anything - just land transferring between schools based on a standardized set of rules.

It sure is fun to look at every week though. Next week UMD faces Mankato which would consolidate a ton of land either way.

That game has the most territories at stake (14) but I think the real biggest game this week for the map is Angelo State at Tarleton State...

It's possible that this week could be the last time we see land change hands for our conference for the rest of the regular season.

                            Kinda interesting.

Not week 5, but week 6, the middle might be either all green or all red.
