      Wisconsin won't be bringing back spring sport seniors. Of course, they are the only BIG school not to have baseball.

        I'm not surprised. Even as a track person, I can admit it's a money pit if you aren't winning titles consistently.

          Most schools cannot finance the scholarships, room, board, and various other expenses of an additional class of athletes. It was shameful for the NCAA to rule for the extra year of eligibility and toss the thing at the feet of the schools who are then going to have to pay the $$$. You will see a lot more going the way of Wisconsin out of financial necessity.

            I think Harvard and Yale (who could afford it) have done the same. It wasn't an Ivy League rule but usually when those two want something it happens.
